fr is right. It's just the way Amazon works. If it states limited quantities and you can't add it to your cart, it's Amazon way of saying it's out of stock. They aren't refusing to sell at that price, they just don't have any to sell so they won't take your order. Just put it in your wish list and have them e-mail you if and when it becomes available.
But does putting the item on the "wish list", lock in the same price from the sale, and allow you to buy it at that price when quantities become available again? (Does that act effectively like a "rain check"?) If not, then it's just plain pure bait-and-switch by Amazon, and is generally illegal according to most state's laws. It is my understanding that Amazon could then be brought to court by any number of states, if they do business in that state with consumers.
