I just got a Plextor 12x/10x/32x CDRW Drive from staples for $160 plus tax. Price match it with the Plextor CDRW drive at onvia.com/ and apply the $40 off $150 coupon found at fatwallet or other sites. Also, I know the coupon says it is expired at some sites, it is not, it expires 12/31/00.

The Plextor drive is not found on staples site, so the item number is as follows.

IM1005680

Good Luck, I hope they still have some in stock.

Got mine today. One of the most cleanest burners I ever had so far. Gotta love it! Do they make regular cdrom drives?

Yes, but the most popular ones are the SCSI CD-Rom drives. Plextor is one of, if not the best cd-rom drive makers on the planet. There CD Recorders are top notch also. I never considered getting anything made from them because of expense. With the forum here, I have been able to get my recorder cheaper than expected. Whisper quiet, faster than expected, and NO drive related errors....EVER. Worth every penny I paid. It was a little more than this latest deal, but I have had my recorder for a few months now though.

Plextor do make one of the best CD-R and CDR-W around. Any one know any great deals on the SCSI Plextor 12x/10x/32x CDRW drive? All the deals I have seen so far are for the IDE version, I know they just made the SCSI drive available not long ago. Thanks for sharing awesome deals though. =)

The TDK VeloCD 12/10/32 is the same as the Plextor with a cool blue tray and a better SW bundle. Also, it can read sub-channel data that the Plextors can't, due to an idiotic firmware change. So, TDK work with CloneCD just fine. Just snagged one for $180 from Buy.com after the $30 off coupon and $50 TDK rebate.

rodney174, you are lucky. I was supposed to get mine in the mail today, it never came. I called staples and they said sorry, are supplier doesnt have anymore, and were are not going to carry that plextor drive anymore. So I am out a christmas present for a friend, dont have my new burner, and am royal pissed at staples for them not letting me know any earlier. Any help here?

What firmware change will not let the plextor's read subchannel. I own a Plextor and would like to know before I go updating the Firmware. Thanks.
