Hmmm I wonder if these would work as USB Ethernet adapters on a PC. That might make the deal somewhat hot.
Dude they is free after rebate:

Interestingly, that USB network adaptor is listed in the description as "USB 2.0", but then when you scroll down to the "detailed description" info, it's listed as USB 1.0/1.1.
I would personally prefer spending $5 out-of-pocket and walking out of the store with it, than waiting for rebates, but I might change my mind a bit, I've had decent sucess recieving the last 8 or so rebates I sent in for various computer-related things.
Anyways, I bought this PS2 GO-Net "broadband adaptor" back when EBX had it marked down to $15 retail, on the chance that it works with a PC. The lowest comparable price I could find at the time, for PC-specific-branded USB 1.1 network adaptors, after searching the various retail circulars, was around $19.
The chipset used in those adaptors is an ADMTek "Pegasus II" chipset, and you can get OEM reference drivers on their Taiwan web site that work perfectly peachy on any Windows-family OS. I actually found that the performance of this device was better than that of my onboard Via KT400/8235 built-in ethernet, which was a surprising result, a USB device beating out a PCI device in performance.
You might also check out the Datel 4-port USB 1.1 hub, marketed for PS2, but again, works fine for a PC, for $4.99 at GameStop. It's only bus-powered, not self-powered (no wall-wart), but for some things that's just fine, and still half the price of any other comparable PC-branded mini 4-port USB 1.1 hub.
