199-50.00 PM - 43.04(NET MSN Dollars) = Your final cost before tax $106.93 (may vary slightly by your tax rate)

Detailed instructions for successful PM.

1. First make sure your Compusa Has stock.

2. Order PS2 from Circuit City.com and do local pickup before Sat Close (sale ends sat)

3. Pick up or print a copy of this weekends COMPUSA ad listing PS2 for 149.97

4. PAY FIRST....

5. Then as the order is done say you want to price match (or if you have patience come back in a few hours)

6. GO and get a copy of the XMEN PS2 game..

7. Show the AD and request PM to Circuit City

7. Let them know it is in stock and show them that your willing to buy the game

8. You should be successful at this point, tell them you just want a price adjustment not a return re-buy (then you lose the M$N !!!) I told them something about getting credit from sony from making a purchase online and you will lose points for free CD's...

9. Wait for the Bling Bling!

I have gotten 2 ps2's so far am going in for my third sat.

The PS2 is $199, the X-Men game is $49.99 = $249.98
$249.98 - $50 = $199.98
$199.98 - $49.99(X-Men game) = $149.99(PS2)

You can't just go in and buy the PS2 for $149, you HAVE to buy the gam also. Basically you are getting the game free or the PS2 for $149, depends on the way you look at it

Either glass of water is half full or half empty. Wish they had a Xbot deal with Halo, instead of those 2 other games.

They don't and they probably won't for a while. They know you are going to buy it anyways.

Does this deal get any better with MSN buy thru CC and the PM the Compusa ad ??? But will it work? could be pretty hot for a net cost of 111.97 ???

I think you should reword the title, to $199 for ps2 and xmen game instead. cause the ps2 would cost more than $149 if you never intented to buy x-men game in the first place.

You can Ebay the game and still end up paying maybe $165 plus a PM to CC might take $40 off that to make it $125 + taxes.

Also, you can buy the game and then exchange it in sealed condition for another game - GTA Vice City comes to mind.

CC's PM policy speciifically excludes free or bonus offers. That being said there are always exceptions depending on your local manager. You also risk the chance that the store will simply reutrn the original order and resell you the items. This is escpecially true if you order via the web for instore pickup or PM at a different location other than you original pickup location. Most CC B&Ms favor the return/repurchase for web orders or other B&M purchases because they do not get penalized for the return against their store sales and even get credit for the new sale. If they do a return/repurchase you will loose the MSN rewards

WHich is the best way to do this? Buy and pay first ...then come back for credit ........ OR Go in with the Ad and pay after PM? TO keep MSN intact I would prob buy first since you can always return later.....

Any thoughts?

I've been wanting to get a PS2, and figured with the MSN dollars, that was the best deal I was going to get. But now this deal has made it even sweeter. I'm so glad I waited and thanks for the CompUSA info! Here's how I did it..

I ordered the PS2 (199.99), extra DualShock2 Controller (24.99), and 2 pack memory card (34.99) online for in-store pickup. When I picked it up, I also added the 2 year replacement plan (29.98 - I know, a lot of people think it's a waste, but for me, if I don't buy it, it's guaranteed to break!), for a total of 313.67. While I was waiting for the items to come out from the back, my CSR helped the next customer, so I went to a different CSR and said "Oops, I forgot I had this ad, can I pricematch this?". I confirmed with her that she was just PM'ing (and not ringing up a new order). I think it helped that I had just printed the ad from the website rather than bringing in the actual ad, because it made the text very small and I honestly don't think she could completely read it. I say this because she didn't even make me buy a game with it, just adjusted the price and that's it (refunded my card $59.54 - the game selection there was completely picked through, so it was a good thing).

I then went to the Wiz and bought GTA VC!

So, total price before any PM: 313.87
Total after PM and MSN Wallet and 25% rebate on accessories (available if you get them at the same time as the PS2): $183.06 (if my math is right!)

plus another 5.50 off if I can prove to CC that the Wiz has the controller for 5 bucks cheaper (whch they do, but their website stinks), plus over 1000 bonus points on my Sony Credit Card. Whoohoo! 😀

Last Day ..now use Minority report game 49.99 to keep your full reward intact (43.04) Purchase a game too so when you get a PM you are only Down to 215.99 rather than 161.44 for rewards
