Hot? Philips 642 P-scan dvd player $48 @ meijer's outlet B&M

I was checking out meijer's "thrifty outlet" in Grand Rapids, MI, and they have the philips 642 progressive scan DVD player for $48 + tax. Looks like they had about 100 on the shelf.


This same player was discussed here, and was deemed a good deal for for 79.99.


This seems hotter though? If this isn't somehow hot, I apologize.

IMHO, the 642 player for $50 is a SMOKING HOT deal. :thumbsup:

I've had my 642 player for about a month now and love it. It plays everything I have thrown at it including SVCD, Divx, and Xvid. It doesn't support Divx/Xvid movies encoded using GMC or Quarter Pixel, though.

Pardon my venting but Im just so sick of not getting any deals here in FL. Guess thats the tradeoff for no snow.

cost of living is like twofolds of other states, and we cant even get a break on these deals. WTF.
no fry's no outlets, not even a friggin walmart in the city.

but for over $20 more. i got a target, but i want a meijer's. eastern standard time is a curse on electronic bargains.

Calm down...we have some bargains they don't have ourselves. Maybe you should try looking around and exploring NYC a bit more for all the small shops with good deals. All the midwesterners have out there is huge mall complexes.
And anyway, in NYC if you look hard enough you can get a complete, cooked meal for $3. If you raise this bar to $3.99 it's probably easier lookin'.

But yeah our cost of living is generally higher...still you probably make more money too.

Meijer's has an outlet store? Where in Grand Rapids is this? I'm not very far from the area.
