1) Are they naked?
2) Is tofu like baby-oil? Because if it isn't, I'm not sure I want to see this.

Tofu abuse.
Wasting food.
Objectifying women.

It would be easier to take PETA seriously if they didn't have so much chicken embryo all over their collective faces.

OH YEAH! PETA, here i
come!

For those who haven't watched the vid, don't take too long or you'd be finishing up during the animal abuse sequence.

:p

Tofu is a plant.
Tofu is abundant and there's no danger of a tofu shortage anytime soon.
Those women look like they're having fun.

It would be easier to take you seriously if you weren't up to your eyes in ignorance.

Ahh, OK. So it's ok to abuse plants, eh? You're OK with slash-and-burn farming and deforestation since, after all, they're only plants?

According to World Hunger Year, 12.5% of the US population does not have enough food, yet PETA is willing to waste a sizeable amount of food that these people could have been eating, just to prove their sensationalistic point (which, I might add, has little to do with ethical treatment of animals, and more to do with pushing propaganda).

Perhaps PETA should work on setting these people up on vegan diets to push their agenda instead of throwing away food.

Those women look like they're having fun.
Most porn stars can at least convincingly act like they are having a good time, I'm sure.
Fact is, many women's studies scholars believe that this kind of advertising dehumanizes women and actually implicitly promotes violence against women, and that the only reason they do willingly do this is closely tied to the only reason that people continue to insist on eating meat - because they just always have.

But I guess that's OK, as long is it's a plant or a human.

What ever good PETA's message may have is obscured by their sensationalist politics. But I can play that lame game, too.

I was referring to the fact that plants, unlike animals, do not feel pain and were not being "abused" as you put it. I fail to see how that relates to deforestation of any type.

I'm not going to go into how I feel about that 12.5% who probably spent all of their money on cocaine and booze. But I agree, PETA supplying them with vegan food would be cool, even though most of them probably don't deserve the help, I'm sure at least some of them do, and I would actually be interested in seeing to it that something like this could happen.

I can't argue your point on women, because it's the truth. The reasoning PETA did such a thing was most likely someone in their marketing dept. hoping to hit different groups of people with a video like this. Somewhat ignorant on their part as well.

I support PETA's message, but politics have really crappy up the organization somewhat. Unfortunetly, there aren't as many other similar organizations as there could be, which makes PETA somewhat the only choice.

this video really doesn't make sense to me. to me it's just a bunch of women playing around in tofu, i'd imagine 3/4 of the people didn't even know or care it was tofu. I'm not so sure how many people there got whatever message PETA was trying to get across. It was fun to watch though :)

Bad call on the part of plants not feeling pain. Too lazy to dig them up, but plants do sense "danger" and respond to stimuli such as a knife in the tree. Just because they cannot express it vocally doesn't mean they aren't in pain.

How about I go stab someone who is mute and also paralyzed? HE FEELS NO PAIN!! HONEST. Pish Posh, go back to your soy farm.

BTW, soy farms are just as bad as regular farms in terms of land exhaustion, runoff, and fertilizer dependency.

Well, in a way, I suppose that's my point. What does a couple of porn stars rolling on tofu have to do with not torturing cows and chickens on feedlots? Or even taking up a vegan diet? About as much as it has to do with deforestation..

I'm not really concerned about the cause of these people's hunger. Bottom line is that there are plenty of people going hungry, and it's counterproductive to waste food just to make a point. I hate wasting food probably about as much as I hate torturing animals.

Feh. I'm in support of treating animals humanely even if they are just being raised for food. I'm in support of vegetarian and vegan diets as healthy lifestyle choices.

But I'd sooner rip a chicken's beak off for kicks than let PETA be the mouthpiece for my ideals. They are just way too far off the scale.

Yeah, seriously weak stuff. If you guys are really that desperate, it would probably take me maybe a minute to hack out the PETAganada and leave you with nothing but the good stuff. :p

I don't see why people bring up cruelty to plants, and compare it to cruelty to animals. You are a dumbass if you think it's anywhere near the same thing, and are arguing just for the sake of arguing. When someone shows me a plant brain, then I will take back what I have said.

You are comparing a paralyzed mute to a plant? HUH?

Also, the current farms we had have wouldn?t have to work as hard if we didn?t use the produce to feed the feed animals in the first place. It?s a lot more efficient to eat the plant than have an animal eat the plant, and then we eat the animal. The middleman(cow, chicken, pig?) produces literally tons of waste products, and uses up many other resources that crop would never need in the first place to grow.

If you have the time, stick a knife in a tree, then stick a knife in a cow and see if there is a difference?.

Not worth viewing. The video is small and cut with anti meat slogans every 2 seconds. Ratio is about 3:1, 6 seconds of anti meat eating propaganda to 2 seconds of bikini clad wrestling. The end of the video starts showing rabbid anti-meat propaganda. I just clicked the X to stop the vid at that point.

Don't waste your time or bandwidth.

I just read a great article on PETA in some mens magazine.
I think it was razor or something.

PETA is a joke.
