It seems like a useful product, at a nice price. Just be aware that it doesn't run the Palm OS, or the MS PocketPC OS. So it won't be compatible with the popular Palms, Handsprings, Sonys, HPs, etc.

if you think a handspring is bulky.. you should see the ipaqs. When i put it in my pocket, i get a big bulge =P

LOL...Is that a BULGE in ur pocket...or are you just happy to have an IPAQ???

that's why i am still using my Workpad C3 (a palm Vx clone). It's super slim and it serves very well. The battery lasts forever too. Nothing fancy, but does the job -- avantgo, outlook sync, freecell, Liberty Rom sim (contra), e-novels, dictionary, hackmaster to overclock it to 254% faster, bugme, and lots more.

Hope CE device could be thinner and more pocketier.

Last time I owned a credit card-sized organizer, I stuck it in my back pocket and ended up sitting on it, destroying it and all my non-backed-up data 😱

I own a Sharp Wizard now. Sturdier than a Palm or PocketPC, cheaper too. My "toy" for PDA-type tasks and wireless internet is an ePods running WinCE at 640x480. And it's too big to stick in my pocket and accidentally sit on. 😀

Not to bash on the posting, but the Oregon Scientific Echo is not very useful. Some of its deficiencies include: no recurring appointments, no alarms in advance of the meeting (the alarm only goes off at the time of the meeting), no support for Outlook unless you purchase additional software. For $30, you can get a Rex 5001 on e-Bay, and it would still be a better product. For $60, you can get a Rex 6000.

My $0.05,
-a.
