I just did this deal, but wanted to add something. You can get these 2 programs ($49.xx each) for free ($70 instant rebate and $30 mail-in rebate) for use with the palm or visor:

I ordered the visor with the coupons initially mentioned in the thread. My total was $212.xx (this total includes tax and free shipping). I then pricematched to moreaudiovideo.com for about a $7 credit and used Dash for about $11.00 refund check. And of course the $50 from visor needs to be added as well! The total (without the software) comes to around $144.xx. I did this order before i found the software deal, so called in to add this to the order and they made a separate order because they couldn't add it because the software is not in stock (comes from another company but still arrives next week). The software ends up being free because of the $70 instant and $30 mail-in rebate, but about $6.xx is added for tax. So...the final total for the entire purchase of the visor and the extra "junk" and the software comes to $144.xx plus $6.xx (tax on the software). I'm not sure how useful the software will be but for $6.xx it's ok! This software can be used with the palm or visor...vroom

I noticed no specs for the palm's processor, whats the default speed?
and whats the deal with address book/calendar/to do/memo pad specs? Shouldn't those be the same? unless there's some fuzzy math here.

For everyone wondering, you add the 'junk' because they add to your 'total amount' and the other codes are 'instant rebate' codes for the printer cartridge and the CD (I believe it's suppose to be buy 2 get 1 free or something, but apparently you don't need to buy that many =) )... anyways... whoever get that BJ-21... let me know... I have a canon printer and that damn cartridge is expensive!!!!!! PM me please heehee

thanks for the heads up. i tried earlier, but they were out of address book cd. now, they got them back on stock. i think i'm gonna go for the ms explorer mouse (391412) for $59.98 + my mail list and address book cd (936478) for $19.99 - $49.99 coupon code. the mouse has a $10 rebate.

looks like staples is on to this, they automatically added a $39.97 piece of software to my order called "MYBUSINESS PUBLISHER" I think this is to fulfill the requirement of buying 2 pieces of software to get the -$49.99 my new total is $167.11 beware I dont think this is going to work...

ccity? did you pick up the extra software by accident? I know that staples.com is so freakin' annoying because everytime you want to buy something... and add it to the card.. they bombard you with "accessories and similar items" that you need to either "buy" or "reject" before you can move on with the site... very shifty!

i just checked my status and the palm IIIxe and the ink cartridge is marked as shipped to arrive 3/21 and the software is still pending but no sign of another software being added. hope this deal doesn't go sour.:disgust:

Yeah, everything "processing" on mine too. That's not a good sign, seeing as how the Palm is scheduled for delivery via UPS tomorrow.

One thing to try is: take the stuff you don't want back to a B&M Staples. They don't know what coupon codes go with what, and if you pick the dumbest associate there, you might get a refund on all the stuff except the Palm. I'm going to try and return the "junk" for a refund or at least a store credit. I'll let you know how it goes.

OK if anyone else is having this problem I talked to a CSR and he told me I could take my packing slip and visa card to a local staples and return the items (this seems like it could be easily abused) or they would send me a call tag to return it.

UPS just came and I only got the My Mail List & Address Book software. The scheduled delivery date for this software is 3/21/01 on the order status and the Palm is 3/15/01. Every items still show IN PROCESS on Staples' order status. Has anyone received the Palm yet?

really no good sign, but as the CD is now out of stock, perhaps they think it over and send out these few pda's...
