I am sure u have come across this site.

I see no ad on that site, no sponsor, nothing...

and that I believe that site is quite popular, thus demand a lot of bandwidth and server resource. (I read about that they have serveral dedicated server and use load balancer)

So, how do they exactly make $ with those site ?

that's a REALLY good question.

Maybe certain pictures are actually promotions, for say, a model's site, or something?

The site is run out of a living room by 2 guys. Bandwidth is probably expensive but I'm sure they have some sort of sponsors/funding

Does the Meet site cost money?

Only if you want to send messages to another unpaid member. If you are okay with talking to paid members, the site is still free. A paid subscription ($5-6 per month... that's 20 cents a day) gets you the ability to talk to unpaid members, as well as priority in match lists and stars on your profile. Finding matches, receiving and replying to messages, and sending messages to paid members is always free.

Membership sites can be quite lucrative. Customers sign up to automatically pay every month - sweet.

They make money in the "Meet Me" section. If you actually want to contact someone by email..you have to pay.
