Hot or not? At tigerdirect KDS notebook for $599 P-III 600, 128, 20GB, NIC, Firewire, 12.1", Ext CD-ROM

nothing at tigerdirect is hot. not now. not ever.

I got a great deal on a Dell recertified LCD there. My friend bought the same screen, and they shipped it to the same address and blamed it on UPS though. They are kind of shady.

Edit: I meant WRONG address, not SAME address... yeah, I'm retarded.

The comp probably used your cookie to fill in the shipping info.

TigerDirect is probably one of the worst retailers to deal with.... I have heard nothing but horror stories. Even if this deal wasn't from Tiger this would still be cold. That laptop is overpriced. On a good deal day at Dell you can get a 2 GHZ P4 DVD or CDRW for $630....

same here.

yeah, there are always threads on laptops for 700$ or under, w/ at least 2 ghz P4s/celerons with dvd/cdrw, 14 inch+, etc.

not h0t.

not hot...

for $75 more you can get a 2 ghz celeron laptop from dell right now.... there is a thread about it in AT right now

EDIT: its a p4, even better!!1 😛

Wow you guys are just so picky. I don't see this as a superhot deal but you do have to consider that this notebook is 1 inch thick and has the P3 ULV (Ultra Low Voltage). So you should see a very signifigantly longer battery life and it is far lighter than almost any Dell notebook with similar price. I am all about the superslim notebooks and I was seriously considering this when it was first released at $1200.
