This is a very good deal if you can make it.
Fleet Bank now doing an employee referral program. Most of their employees will get a 15 pack referral coupon book (if they don't, they will likely get it shortly). Use it to open a Checking account with $100.00 minimal deposit or a CD at 1000.00 (other accounts may eligible) to get a $25 Filene's gift certificate for both you and the employee who refered you.
Based on the packet I got(yes I read the fine prints), they will send out the GC within 30 days. They also are not requiring to keep the account alive so you can close it even before you get charged.
The only downside of this deal is you have to know someone works for fleet. As far as I know most of them should get the coupons and at the fleet item processing center at Malden, MA (where I work), everyone from manager to part timer already got their packet.
