So maybe or maybe not, and only the OnLive versions not the real PC versions.

"OnLive" and "Maybe" in the the thread title would be more accurate.

Damn, I was hoping for physical copies for PC... I should have known that it was too good to be true.

Just realized that Onlive is only good if you don't want to bother buying the actual console to play games on or if you don't have a good PC because you still have to buy the games outright or sign up for their $10/month service that has crappy games.

Eh...no thanks.

You don't have to sign up for their 10$ a month service. It's one dollar. My god, what is this, Somalia?

1. It's only $1 if they get 10,000 likes. So it's $1 or if not enough likes it's, what, $50? which is ice cold.

2. It's the OnLine version. Many of us with a good gaming PC would rather play the real PC version in 1080p with full eye candy and high FPS, not the 720p, 30 fps?, compressed-image OnLive version with network lag.

OnLive is a nice alternative if you don't have a gaming PC, but it's not the same quality if you do. For a game I want to play, I'd rather pay $30 for the PC version than $1 for the OnLive version.

Many of us with good gaming PC's can't use OnLive because apparently the connection (DSL) isn't good enough.

1) You don't pay 50$ unless you buy it now. That is ice cold. You don't have to pay that and then wait for the deduction. I'm sure they'll get 10,000 likes. If they get that, THEN you buy the game for 1$. That is insanely hot.

2) I would rather play the PC version, but for 1$, it's not worth it to spend another 49$ (to me). Onlive is actually very good for most games. Let me caveat that by saying I have an overclocked i7 2600, 8gb ddr3, SSD drive, and Nvidia 580 video card and am uber excited about my BF3 preorder coming. If they had BF3 on onlive, it wouldn't matter to me, I would still buy the PC version. I have Assasins Creed 1&2 for the xbox. I have the onlive console with controller. I bought AC Brotherhood for 12.50$ on onlive 2 weeks after it came out. That is an insane deal. There is NO difference in that game compared to the XBox. I play all of them on my 73'' TV. For most games, like I said, 1$ is an insanely good deal.

OnLive isn't for everybody, but it's useful for some so the elitist PC gamers need to stop thread crapping.

Thanks for the post OP

It's not thread crapping to point out that the thread title is misleading or incomplete, and to explain why.

If a deal has a $100 rebate ("AR"), or requires a tricky pricematch that doesn't always work ("YMMV"), or is only at one brick and mortar store in Ohio ("OH PC-Hutt only") we expect that to be disclosed in the title too, and are free to voice our disappointment when it isn't.

Given that the OP reveals that info, I don't see it as an issue. There's a limit to how much info you can fit in the title. It was better when we had title + subtitle to put in extra info, but we have to make due.

If it makes anybody feel better, Online and EA both do a lot of these little sales on Facebook (I follow both). They get to the required number of "likes" easily.

Fair enough, but if you look at my first response (before the OP's Somalia comment) I only suggested adding "OnLive" and perhaps "Maybe" to the title. For example:

HOT!Deux Ex:Human Revolution, Batman Arkham City, other latest releases 1$ (OnLive)

I added 'Contingent' and 'Onlive' to the title. I had to squish it in. I'm pretty sure they'll reach the goal, like gorcorps said about EA and others do, easily. I just don't get the resistance to a 1$ game. If you don't like Onlive, then fine, or, like I said, if you live in Somalia and you earn 1$ a month, then I also understand, but jeez. I just wanted everyone to be able to see this. I miss deals like this all the time and it bums me out they weren't posted here (I check here most often).

Posting the deal was a great idea -- it's just good to add "OnLive" or "Steam" or "D2D", etc. if it isn't a regular physical copy. Notice the $5 deal sales for Steam, D2D, etc. are labeled that way.

Some people hate Steam or D2D and refuse to buy anything from them.

I don't hate OnLive, it just doesn't make sense for me to use it since I have a decent PC and would rather pay extra for that version even vs. $1.

Ok so if they get 10k likes, I can buy any of their games for $1 and play it for as long as it's available without paying anything else whatsoever?

If so, it might be worth it just to pick up Arkham City and play it then.

Liked, Thanks OP. I don't use Onlive often, but when I do it is greatly appreciated.

BTW if you have any Mac friends who are bummed about not having a new release on their fancy OSX, Onlive has a Mac client so they can play without Bootcamp or parallels or any of that nonsense.

Also they need to reach a total of 62,791 Likes and they are at 60,051 currently. They have until Saturday to do it.

https://www.facebook.com/OnLive

I would say it is pretty reasonable that they will reach their mark.

Since you posted this they are up to 61,061! Ya! I think they'll make it! Whoo! I hope Batman AC releases before the 1$ coupon/voucher/deal expires (however it works).

Still waiting for the Android Onlive app. I got the console for free (makes a decent bedroom console -- I have it velcroed on the back on my LCD). Usually their offers don't apply to preorders so I don't think Batman Arkham City will be eligible but I will use mine for Space Marine 40k.

Yes, ever since I saw the demo of Onlive on an EVO I've been dying for the Android release (I have an EVO).

As for preorders, yes. But they had a similar deal to this about 6 months ago or so and you got a 'voucher' for a free game, any game. It had an expiration date. Fear 3 was a pre-order at the time but came out about 2 days before the voucher expired. I hope it is something like that.

Oh, and it is going to be a voucher sent to your email. When I get it I'll post back here. I hope it has a long expiration date so I can get some of the coming soon games.
