Hi, I noticed during large transfers (1-3gigs) from my workstation to my server. That after a minute or so, it slows down to 10Mbit speed. I am running a Intel Pro/100 on through a 100Mbit switch to another Intel Pro/100 in my Win2k server. I am running WinME, and a Duron 700 o/c to 900. Overclocking has no affect as I have had this problem either way. It starts off at a ridiculously low remaining minutes like 2, for a 1.5gig transfer, then shoots up to 60, and changes around a lot. My mouse gets unbearably slow also. So I was going to pull the NIC right after the transfer, and its hot as hell. Almost too hot to touch. Wondering what my problem might be, and is it related to the heat? Also, WinME has no bearing, tried clean installs of WinME and 98SE, various VIA4in1 drivers, video drivers, and IRQ's. Thanks for ANY help!

Sam:confused:

That much heat very, very bad. Better find out what's generating it and fix it.
