I use a 2500A for work, and it is sweet! This should be great also. Not sure if it's the best though.
 
ok.......stupid question, but i need to know... i was planning on getting two of these for my new rig (going to order next month after I find out about nforce 4) but then this opportunity came up...pretty cheap, can save bout $15. Anyway, the stupid question...if I order EOM what will I need to get. Obviously it doesn't come with the CD that you see in the pic and I will need some wires to run to board...

need some help here...

an ide cable and a free molex power plug

ide cable

if you don't have a free molex power plug, here's a splitter

usually a computer that isn't loaded with cd drives/hard drives should have these available so you shouldn't worry.

edit: oh an probably burning software like Nero (6.3 or above) if you don't have dvd burning software.
 
You're going to want 2 IDE cables, you don't want them both on the same cable. And as for media, TY(Fuji) are the best, the Ridata ones Newegg has for $30/100 burn very well up until 12x

Thats mainly only if the Fuji's are made in japan (which is written on the cake box). Aside from that, memorex's made in japan also tend to be TY's(taiyo yuden). Aside from that, people also are saying they're having better burns on Ricoh discs on the NEC 3500a.
