I got the refurbed raid version a couple of weeks ago for $79 and all I can say is WOW! I don't know why it was called refurb because everything looked untouched except for the manual.

I literally had my machine up and running in one hour (40 minutes for XP install and 20 minutes for hardware install).

I bought a refurb Asus Ak31a about a month ago and spent nearly 4 days trying to tweak things to get it stable. I must have loaded XP a dozen times. I finally got it stable (maybe?) but didn't want to risk any future problems in case the motherboard was bad so I returned it and got this msi.

I would be weary of refurbed motherboards, usually it's one that someone returned, presumabely, because it didn't work.

I've had pretty good experiences with Newegg refurbed items. Their services are just awesome.
But yeah, there's risk with refurbed items, that's why they are 30-40% cheaper.

That's probably my board. I RMA'ed one to them. It was having all sorts of problems...horrendous memory scores, lock-ups, failures after multiplier changes requiring CPU reinstall. Got the AK31 and its been all good since then.
