This is even hotter after the 15 off 75 staples coupon floating around FW, and it does (has) work, at least for a bunch of us it has.

And the afterburner is the fact they *finally* went back to a 3 year warranty. Nice.

I missed the 15 off. Can I somehow get staples to retro the coupon? Then I'll go looking for it.
BTW at 10:30 am we got the last or perhaps only one. Could the store possibly only had the 1 unit in stock? It was tidy and sitting there. The only one on the shelf.

Our local store is *notorious* for short stocking good deals. Typically if you don't get there on Sunday by 1 or 2PM you are screwed until Thursday or Saturday when they get their shipments, however I have found that even then you can't get the item.

Armed with a butt-load of the $15 off's I'm heading to Staples now. Interesting to see if they have any HD and DVD drives left.

Picked up 2, used the $15 off $75 coupon for each of them, meaning each drive was about $28 after tax. Going back tomorrow to pick up some more!

All drives purchased after November qualify for three years, even if the site only says one.

All 3 of them I have gotten so far say 3 years on outside of the box. Not sure about online.

So are you saving the outer box and if the drive goes bad you send that in ? Becuase online Maxtor is saying the drive only has 1 yr warranty

Good deal, where do you get a 15 dollar off coupon?

Also, when I click add to cart, either through IE or firefox it goes to a blank page, what is up with that?

He, as anal as it sounds I do save boxes for the allotted warranty period for all types of stuff. Strange, I know. With the drives I would simply clip the end UPC which also has the serial number.

However if mine also shows 1 year online, i will be contacting Maxtor to see what is up with that.

I just 3 more this evening so I hope they show as 3 years.

That said I've only ever saw one hard drive go bad and that was after almost 6 years of 24/7 operation.

Staples is offering this Maxtor Ultra 200GB ATA 100 Internal Hard Drive for $39.98 after $50 MIR. This is a full retail drive with a three year warranty.

SKU: 504517

Make it sweeter with a printable $15 off $75. This link on msnbc.com worked for me. The ad was about half way down the page on the right side.

If the ad doesn't show the Get $15 coupon link, refresh the page until this particular ad comes up. Their system generates a new code number each time you print it so print your own from the ad to avoid duplicate numbers.

if regenerates the number when you refresh not when you print so you need to refresh it each time you print to get the new code #

Got like 3 of these during black friday. Nice drives, currently using them as mass storage and redundency.

Rebate limit is 5 for the Maxtor HDs. Just print out 5+ rebates and buy them with 5 separate transactions. Be sure to go through the ebates procedure separately for each HD.

Easier to just right click and select rewind so you won't get the other ad.

Anyone know how I can retro on this coupon? I had my kid get this but somehow I missed the coupon. I'm trying to teach him about purchasing and budgeting.
