I got a Maxtor 5400 rpm 40g HD with an ATA100 controller card for $200 with two $50 rebates. I bought it yesterday from COMPUSA and wasn't sure if it is a good deal.

This has only been covered in 4 other threads.

The drive is $150... CompUSA has their own rebate (crapbate), and it allows COPIES of the receipt and UPC.

Like to get a copy of that rebate ( COMPUSA ). I tried from your other post but the jpg was just to large...either got memory errors or printer errors.
Tks in advance

This is a good deal. The NEW YEAR day, Compusa has the $99 sale for 40GB HD, but no free ATA100. SO I bought it and return it. This time is a better deal. I bought again.

I think 5,400 rpm ATA/100 is waste of money. But again you don't have to put them in the same machine:).

It's still a quite good deal, though.

This deal has been around for a while.

Basically purchase a retail Maxtor HD and a Maxtor ATA100 card and get $50 back.

HawkeyeNJ: you shouldn't print a 300dpi scan from your web browse (Internet Explorer). YOu need to download it, save it to disk, then open it in WordPad / Word or some other program that will realize it is a 300DPI scan and print it at the proper 1-page size.
