HOT?! Maxtor 60GB 7200RPM Hard Drive & ATA Card for ~$60 @ Office Depot (8/11)

Next week, Office Depot has the Maxtor 60GB 7200RPM for:

$109.99

-$10 Instant Rebate
-$20 Mail In Rebate

Bringing the total to: $79.99

However, I'm not sure if the prices would be the same at the site.
If it's the same, you can use the coupon ($20 off $75) and get it for $59.99

But then again - if they dont have the Instant Rebate, it'd be only $10 more, totaling $69.99.

Please don't flame...my first deal post.

Thanks

How do you get the card for free? Does it come in the box? I would doubt it because I bought a Maxtor 80 GB 7200 RPM ATA133 drive a couple of months ago and there was no card in the box. Do you purchase it separately and use a coupon code to make it free? Or do you have to buy it and then send in a rebate? Please explain.

I'll agree with you that it'll probably won't be included in the box.
Whether you have send in a rebate or not, I don't know. Sorry. 🙁

Heads up for people interested in Western Digital drives..again..not sure..just looking at ads from a friend.

At OfficeMax - they have the 60GB 7200 RPM for $99.99 ($89.99 after $10 rebate) NOT HOT! But...

Hopefully, this is not only for B&M. The price is $150 at the site!
But if its available online, you can use the $25 off $100 (when you add something to the order)

and pay $65 after rebate...not exactly that great...but I guess its better than the Maxtor if you don't plan messing with the rebates and stuff and assuming that the ATA card is for free after a rebate.

I just did this with a 40 maxtor and they just gave me the card. There was a coupon code they had to punch in.

I did it with the 40gig maxtor, at my B&M Office Max, and they came in separate boxes. By the way, they did accept my printed out $20 off $100 staples coupon, but they said they would not accept printed out coupons in the future.

strange OM B&M you have there...Staples took my $30 off $150 OM email printout and my local OM took my $10 off $40 Staples email printout...seems just a YMMV kind of thing ...

I bought the 80Gb Maxtor from Staples when they had it on sale last time and the ATA133 card was included in the box. There was a big sticker stating that it was inside, tho. Still haven't used it..........since my mb has the same IDE controller built in.

It's probably just like the 40GB Maxtor HD deal a couple of weeks ago, when they had the hard drive for $69 AR with a free ATA133 card. The card is in a retail package, and OD's price on that is $59.99. :Q With the sale, a 4-digit offer code entered by cashier took $59.99 off the order instantly.
