You obviously haven't sold anything on eBay. Most people do not care about that. Especially, since they are getting $140 software for $30-$50. Would you care?

Kenji4861: Good post

Branded: although funny, your post is very negative and kind of ironic from a senior member. The old saying goes, if you don't have anything positive to contribute, then don't post at all.

Kenji posts an idea on how to make some money from a staples deal, which some people may not have thought of. Whether it is $50-$80 for 2 hours, or $10000 for 2 hours, it's still money we didn't have before. And it's obviously up to the other users whether or not to do it, but regardless, it is a positive idea to make a few extra bucks.

I'm curious, since in your ingenious code you list - if the money you make doing this is less than your fulltime job salary, then you are stupid....what else do you do with your time? You ARE a senior member in Anandtech, and obviously active in the hot deals forums.. so you are telling me that everything you do is worth more than your full time salary? You've never bought and sold something?

And you also then spat out "Do not buy stuff you do not need".....Again, you are in the HOT DEALS FORUMS where 99.99% of the stuff here is not needed stuff, but merely cool stuff that we want. If you want to get picky.. I'm sure I can go through 95% of your possessions and you could not justify why you NEED them, but merely wanted them.

So please do not be a hypocrit and post negative/useless posts. You're a senior member!! Act like it!

You are bidding on a BRAND NEW PEACHTREE ACCOUNTING 2002. It has never been used or registered. The UPC is removed carefully for rebate proposes. The CD case is still sealed.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA - ATHD strikes again...😛

FastEddieG;
I meant that to be funny.

I do sell stuff on ebay, but I have to think about what is worth my time. I just wanted to remind people that time is not free. We all have trade-offs. And yes, I have stuff I don't need.

I don't think we should be in the business of encouraging ebayers, because then everyone gets pissed off when they cannot get in on a deal because some one guy is buying up all of product x in their state. Then nobody will want to post here, they will go to some other forum.

Branded: ahhh, ok. And it was very funny 🙂 , but I did not know you did not have serious intent. I do apologize for the rant.

I also agree with you that ebaying shouldn't be encouraged all the time, but I think this is an exception as this is a rather expensive item that most of us can not use, but can sell for 1/2 its worth and both the buyer and seller make out. But again, there isn't much of a demand for it, so there are few buyers out there and with so many sellers, the price will go way down. But I do agree with you.. one way to put hot deals on the endangered species list is for the greedy people who buy more products than they need.

LONG LIVE HOT DEALS!!!

Again, I apologize for the rant, I thought you were serious 🙂

Maybe Anandtech could establish some standard for how much a person's time is worth. Let's say for example $5/hour (pretty humble, no?)
For every hour you have to cope with tracking rebates, cutting coupons, dealing with store managers (selling on ebay!), add back $5 (ymmv).
Or maybe it'd be easier to have a filter option in the forums preference to exclude everything involving actual work!
(I'd like that).
