Depends on who you ask regarding Klipsch vs Logitech. I have never heard the Z560s outside of a store and have a hard time imagining they sound better than the Klipsch. I sold my v2-400s last fall and when I connected these Promedias this weekend it was like being reunited with an old friend.

KLIPSCH will always be better than logitech. Look at the company, their primary goal in life is producing speakers. Logitech's primary goal is producing mice. Each company strayed away from what they normally do. IE. Klipsch creates wonderful home audio products and went to multimedia, Logitech went out of their primary product line of mice and created a multimedia set of speakers (mind you never creating a speaker before in their history) Tell me, whose speakers do you think are going to sound better?
'nuff said.

Yeah. I think Klipsch is better. Maybe that's why I have a pair of the Klipsch Promedia THX 4.1 =D

Yeah, The promedia's are better but Klipsch home theatres are less than wonderful.

Anyone have luck in the Houston area? I am going to check around tomorrow. I am guessing this speaker set is a LOT better than Logitech's Z340s and the money is worth it.

man. a lot of you guys are punks. sorry. but u guys didn't need to go barging in and buy up everyone of the last sets they had at sam goody. pricematching at bestbuy would have been a better idea. which is what i did. but in order for them to pm sam goodys has to have it in stock

BUT even though i went at 10am so no one would BUY the last pair at sam goodys. SOMEONE DID ARGHHH.. so i had to find some other way to get my speakers.. 4 hours later.... i managed.. but how.. that is for me to know.. some stupid mean person went and bought the last set.. thinking "oh i am so cool. i am getting the last one!.. i'm a lurker!!!" and ended up screwing this deal for the rest of the people. i am not one of those since i got my speakers. but it was very inconsiderate. and cmon guys. think of a better way. so this deal can go on as long as possible.

4.2 surround sounds GREAT w00t

Quite crying junior the deal is 11 days old. You're lucky you don't live by me or they would have been sold out 11 days ago.

Yes, you are a punk. Accept it. Either that or reform and be a polite person.

Being wishy washy (act like a punk but don't like to be called one) will only mess you up. Hence, certain Catholic priests have all sorts of problems.

Be a man. Own up to who you are (even if it means risking social alienation) or strive to work towards who you want to be.

aargh, my speakers may have a problem.

I hooked them up but am only getting sound out of 1 speaker. I know it's not the speakers because when I switch the wire they both work, just not at the same time. I think the problem is in the sub where you plug the right speaker wire in.

Anyone have any suggestions?

it's probably just the wire and connector. Klipsch ships the 2.1 and 4.1 with possibly the worst speakers wires this side of China. the ones they give you are 22gauge. switch to 18gauge by making your own speaker wires for a few bucks at Radio Shack. Get gold plated minijacks... those help.

you can get info on making your own wires at the forums at www.klipsch.com

also, before you do that, try just wigging the wires around and the connectors to the speakers themselves... sometimes that'll help.

good luck!

Ramius, thanks for the response.

Let me ask you this, when I plugged some headphones in the speaker I did get sound through both sides (of the headphones). Does this mean it's not the sub after all?

I was reading through the Klipsch forum and it appears others have had the same problem I'm having. From their responses it doesn't sound like the cable is the problem.

Nothing I tried worked so rather than screw around with the busted thing, I took it back.

I then took my return receipt across the parking lot to BB, explained that the set I bought at Sam Goody was the last set they had and that it was defective. I then asked if they'd pm SG considering they owned them. The acting Mgr gave the receipt to another employee to verify the price and said no problem. I walked out with a brand new set of speakers instead of the display model I bought at SG.

I didn't ask for the add'l 15% since they pm'd the price on my receipt ($80.99) which was already 10% off the SG price.

Thanks Ramius for your help and thanks to the OP for posting the deal.

btw...don't bother calling Sam Goody at Lakewood Mall for the speakers. The only set they have is the defective one I returned. Although you may get lucky if you go to Best Buy at the mall and ask them to pm since they already know the price :D

The only problem I have with these punks, is that I'm not one of them. :)

Anyone in the Dallas area able to confirm this deal? Might grab one and upgrade my klipsch v.2-400 into a 4.2 setup

Confirmed in the Dallas area... just got a pair at Richardson Square and Vista Ridge the other day.... Price on the shelf still said 179.99. One of the sales guys insisted that it was 179.99, so I asked him to scan it for me, and it came up at 89.99. Vista Ridge is now out (I got the last sealed pair), and they offered the display model for an addtional 10% off, but I turned it down, and the Richardson Square Mall display doesn't work (the right side is not working).

I went back to BB today and asked the same guy if he'd pm another set for me. Once again, he did it with no problem.

For all those looking to replace their v.2 400's with a 4.2 setup: Remember, these satellites are only 35 watts while the V2.400s are 60.

That must have been you buying them as I walked up to the counter at around 1PM today :). I ended up getting the display (which looked unused - the salesman said they had never been hooked up to anything) with box, packing, etc. for $80.99 (10% off) - he even packed them back up and retaped the box. Later today, I went by Best Buy (in Boca), and after fighting with them a bit, got the PM + 10% (against the $80.99), so the second set (sealed box) cost me $71 and some change. Not bad...

Now I have to decide - do I take the first pair back (assuming they'll take them), do a 4.2 setup on "my" computer (if I can figure out somewhere to put the rear speakers), or use one set on a laptop (since all the other desktops already have adequate speakers - for that matter, so does mine - Infinity RS1001s on a Nakamichi receiver - no sub though).

Decisions, decisions...
