Hot? In Stock, Linksys Docsis cable modem = 105 & free shipping

Nice price, and approved for use with ATT@Home.

Anybody know how the quality and speed of this modem compare to other @Home approved modems?

there is a $5 coupon out there plus free shipping on it as it is over 100 so your shipped price is 99.95 if no new coupons appear soon! I personally would pay the extra $10.00 and get the motorols unit, but that is just preference i know nothing about this linksys product

The currently available 3Com deal is better - $80 or $90 depending on coupons.

The 3Com Home Connect I got months ago came with a 5 year warranty, even though 3Com is no longer manufacturing cable modems - this is selling off the inventory.

While I was initially spooked, the unit I got has been A+ on reliablity, speed, info, ....
Assuming Office Connect is essentially the same, I'd recommend it.

Whatever you do, * BUY *.

Before I got a ~$100 deal, I rented for 36 months @ $10/month!
What a rip off!

Actually, for those of you interested in the Linksys modem, there's a way to get a better deal... Also, the modem should work fine, and it even has direct USB output if you don't want to deal with an Ethernet patch...

As for the Deal, it's at Buy.com, here for $105.
Use the $10 off $100 coupon.
Use the Free shipping with $100+.

It comes to your door for $95.

Good?

i am renting a rca modem right now from @tt rip off only for 3 months.
but does this modem have a Ethernet Pot so i dont have to use the usb port i hate usb gives me to much greif.

Using the Ethernet Port is easy and no problems nothing to install and doesnt have problems like usb.

does any one know does it have a Ethernet Port i wanna use it with my network not usb?
How does these compare to RCA cable modems i dl about 500k will i see any difference if i swicth modems i know this is a stupid question?😀

The modem has both and ethernet port and a USB port... The USB is just kinda a bonus for the folks who want to use it... You won't notice a single difference in transfer speeds - a cable modem is a cable modem...

OK, this is NOT intended to be a thread crap, so please don't take it as such, but here's my thoughts:
First off, I don't like Linksys stuff, but YMMV
Secondly, you CAN see differences in speed amoung cable modems, just as a good dialup modem can be faster than a bad one, the same is true of a cable modem.
Lastly, look around on eBay for cable modems. I got my Terayon TeraJet 210 (Which is generally considered the Fastest cable modem there is) for $51 plus shipping off eBay brand new.
