If there is special pricing (it says $500 off), this is only available to students at Buffalo. Not meaning to snow on your parade (is it snowing in Buffalo yet?)

I thought all the T30 series have SXGA screen (1400x1050), I guess I am wrong since this one only XGA. But still a good deal though

Only some have the SXGA, but it's becoming more standard now, thankfully.

Although this is one bad ass truely portable laptop. I think bang for your buck I'd rather get a decked out (and heavier I know) Dell Inspiron 8200.

where does it say this? I am not a student at the University at Buffalo (I'm at the University of Rochester) and they didn't stop me from buying...I do know some people at the University though...does it mean they can get it for $1499? if so, perhaps I should return it and get my friend to buy it for me...

Dude, Don't get a Dell...

Thinkpads need to boost their rep somehow...like Dell and Intel, their advertising puts them up as frontrunners for the average consumer

drop that Dell on the ground and drop a T30 on the ground...then attempt to turn them both on...
only the Thinkpad will survive

The corperation I work for, has over thousands of T21's, T22's, T23's, and now we are just getting in the T30's.

I deal with these laptops every day and can honestly say, they put anything I've seen from most other manufactuers (cough Dell cough) to shame. The construction, weight, and sleek look are what set these models apart from the rest. These things can take a beating (though i've never dropped one ..... i swear ..... :) ), as we never really need to get replacements.

I personally use a T23 (PIII 1.13) and it's extremely speedy. Don't know what I would do without it ... Anyone who is in the market for a Laptop, I suggest seriously checking out the IBM T-series boxes.

sm0kes out.

I agree with the above comments about the IBM thinkpad series.

We use IBM ThinkPad's 99% at my company. A few Dell, Toshiba, and Gateway's come and go......Only the IBM's last their 3 year warranty and then some.

The T-series is great for business and very reliable. Nothing fancy or extreme.

My $.02

Unfortunately, the refurbs direct from IBM only have a limited 3-month warranty.... that blows.
