Multiwave has PC2700 DDR SDRAM for $79.20 plus shipping. Ground to VA is $8.76, total $87.96 shipped. Its not the cheapest on Pricewatch, but it is the cheapest reputable dealer. (IMO)

Linky

I bought for myself and three firends...shipping drops dramatically per item.

Compared to a couple of weeks, ago, this is amazing!

Nice price for PC2700 from a good dealer, but you need to let us know what you get. MWave doesn't list who is manufacturing the RAM, so it could be good or it could be very poor. How hot this deal is will depend on how good the RAM itself is.

I guess it is a little bit of a repost. Price is lower now, though.

I'll let you know what chips when it arrives next week.

I got mine today. I ordered on Tuesday I think using 2 day air. ANyway, my chips were something like Elixir... Someone correct me on the spelling.

If you want more information that, let me know and I'll open my case and see if I can't take down some more info.

Not listed, you'll have to call and ask. Most likely 2.5, or even worse, 3. I've got a place with almost as good prices on CL2/CAS2 chips, but they are OOS right now. As soon as they are back in stock, I'll post it.

Can you please tell us what CAS latency your chips are running at? You don't need to open your case - you can run Sisoft Sandra to determine what your latencies are. I've been researching many 'hot deals' on PC 2700 only to find they are overclocked 2100 chips. If Mwave is selling genuine 2700 chips for that price, it's a great deal.

Thanks!

How's $75 for 256Mb PC2700 CL2/CAS2 with heat spreader? or $160 for 512Mb?

probably better off getting the Hyper-X Cas2.5 PC3500 and just underclocking em to run at PC3000 Cas2 for $171

I've got some of these but PC3200 running at 400Mhz CAS2/CL2, 3-6-3 2T. I like 'em alot, the main problem is they are always sold out, the chips move so fast.

I think he might be mistaken. He is comparing good 256meg ddr to the 512meg ddr mentioned in this thread.

I am speaking of some good DDR PC3200, although the place has PC2700 and PC3500 as well. Several brands, and I'll provide a link tomorrow. The chips I am using, assuming they are in stock, are the PC3200 described above. 512meg DIMMS are about $120, and have Winbond chips, and a basic black heat spreader. About $75 for 256meg DIMMS.

This is the response I received from Mwave concerning the CAS on their Mwave brand 2700 and 3200 ram:

Dear Sir,
The cas is 3 on our Mwave. Pc2700. If you have any further questions
please call us or e mail our tech support at Tech@mwave.com for further
details.
Thanks Mwave.Com

It may run 2100 at CL2, but I doubt it. To the best of my knowledge, most chips that are manufactured for a certain speed are designed to have CL 2.5 or better at that speed. Every time I have come across a CL 3 chip, it turns out to be an overclocked chip from the speed grade below it. Thus Mwave's (or any other place that sells 'generic' or 'spot market' chips) 2700 will give you CL 2.5 at 2100, but don't bet on any better. The same applies for 3200 CL 3 chips as well. I have been bargain hunting for cheap true 2700 CL 2.5 chips, and best price I can find is in the $90+ range.

CAS 3? Yugggggggggggggggggggg!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ever notice that when the don't list it, it always sux? I doubt this would even do CL2 running as PC2100, although you might get that out of a CL2.5 PC2700.

Would this run at CL2 at PC2100?

look at the other thread and you will find out.

And Mr dude guy :) that smiley is just for you.

seriouly people are asking the same questions that were answered in the last thread. should have just posted this in the original thread.

BTW it will run CL2 at PC2100 speeds (Look in the other thread)
and it is 2.5 @ PC2700 says so on the chip

Edit BTW: in alot of people opinions you will never notice the differance between 2.5 and 2 but that is for another thread the search button is your friend.
