Just went to the local Compusa today to do the TDK CDR deal and see this sound card. It's specially priced at $25 with a $15 I/O Magic rebate. So the total is $10+tax. Seems to be a pretty decent entry level 4 channel sound card. Anybody has any comments?

It's also on the Compusa website, but no mention of price reduction or MIR. YMMV.

Be careful to keep copies of all the rebate submission stuff. Chances are with IOMagic, you'll have to call them in a couple month in order to get the rebate.

If you have Windows 98 (not SE version), make sure you use the Windows 95 drivers, otherwise you get no hardware accelleration with this card. I have it and it seems fine with the Windows 95 drivers, but it really will work better for you if you have Windows 98SE or above. I sure hope I get that rebate, though. It's worth $10 but for $25 I probably would have bought something else (especially considering all the aggravation it cost me until I tried the Windows 95 drivers).
