Uh, I know there is a scam here somehow. This place is advertised ALL OVER the place. Not only that, there is some huge referral system for this place. I must have seen 200 different auctions on FLEAbay advertising info for this place with their little own referral links in place...Beware, because something doesn't smell right......

Anyways, it says they will arrive by December 15, so by then that probably won't be such a great price. But they accept payment by pay*pal and say they're verified, so you do have fraud protection. Smells like spam?

Hi guys, this does seem fishy. For one it claims to go to a secure server before even entering the site. How many places does this? Also the pages look crappy. Also the who is record looks strange (see below). Why would Tuscos register this site? I think this is a scam. I work in network security at a fortune 500 corporation and something smells funny! Buyers beware!

Even if this deal were legit the demand may not be as great by December 15th. If you genuinely want/need a PS2 then you might give this a try after weighing the possibility of being SCAMMED on. But if you're like me and plan on fleBaying the PS2 you may not get $1,000 like most people are. Then again maybe SONY will have yet another shortage of consoles but they intend on delivering 100,000 per week every week. Considering December 15th is about 6 weeks away that's 600,000 more PS2's in circulation, with more supply the demand may be less. Then again the biggest shopping day of the year, post-Turkey day November 26th is one month away so maybe demand will increase as lazy parents gear up to buy their kids a PS2.

Tucows not Tuscos is listed as the Registrar not the Registering Party. I hope you are kidding about that job because you dont seem to be very Netucated!

I registered and bought one, BUT I did not pay yet because like I said I feel that it's kinda of weird...I think I will try to go checkout their office if I get time because I live not too far from them. Even Paypal you can scam people.

I really hope this isn't a scam....I was pretty desperate on Oct 26th to secure one for Xmas, and I ordered from there. I don't really see how they could get away with ripping so many people off though. (famous last words) I guess we'll just have to wait and see...or find out how to cancel orders =P

Visto.com is a free email service. Looks real professional when the administrator is using a free web email service. This just has the stench of bad deal written all over it.

Just looked at their site -- really strange, "Netscape Browser not supported". Huh? They must want to you to use Explorer browser for some reason -- any ideas?

I don't know how much of a garauntee X.com gives with their verified accounts. If they reimburse 100% should there be a scam I would probably order from these small retailers. I'm verified with X.com but have no idea what it does other than make it easier to sell on Fleabay. The part I don't like about this site is the referral system. Get $10 for everyone you get to buy a PS2 from them, 20 people and you get a free PS2 system. I don't see them having that many units by Xmas so why a referral system on an easy sell? Doesn't make sense.

I got the impression that it didn't even have to be a PS2 that was bought for you to get credit in the whole referal system thing. So if you just had 20 people who bought like a game or something that would work, but don't quote me on it.

Eric

By the way anyone who is brave enough to be the first to order from here, let me know if you get it and everything I might do it if it works well for you guys.

Well I wouldnt order from here, but if you do all your CC info is secure an if they rip you off you will get your cash back. This is true cause all your cc info goes through paypals order system when you opt to pay by paypal, and you will get your cash back if your scamed cause paypal protects buyers from fraud if the sell has a Verified business account, which this guy has.

If it is a ripoff, then why would the seller have a verified business account? I'm sort of skeptical about it myself, but most con-artists don't have secure sites w/ paypal verified business accts....or do they?

If this is a ripoff then think of this...so you pay now...and you don't expect the product for a month and a half...he is long gone by then. You can't call the CC people and have the money withheld b/c the money is already sent and he is drinking beer on the beach...

This is 100% Scam. There's not even a doubt in my mind, lets get the right authorities on this right away and catch them before they run off with millions of dollars. Let's do the math here. They promise to have a PS2 by december 15, 10 days before Christmas where everyone's gonna be in a frenzy. They only accept prepay if you want it that day. They could easily get 100,000 or 200,000 orders, that adds out to be more than 50Million dollars. How can they get that many units from SONY? THEY CAN'T. They only accept paypal, who cares if they're verified paypal, by the time people realized that they've been scammed, these guys would have your money already and fled. They don't accept credit card the traditional way, claiming that their server is overflooded, BS. It's easier to get your money back that way than through paypal, so they won't take it. They accept money order, kiss your money good bye if you sent it via money order. Feel free to comment and please get the proper authorities or give me phone #s. We gotta get these damn bastards.

Thanks,
feel free to reply
