go to shopper.com and do a search for fuji 1400.. you should get the lowest price for 278.00 .. have staples price match it.. and use the 40 dolla' coupon.. 238.00.. and fuji is offering a 50 dollar mail in rebate good until january 1, 2001.. 180 bucks for a 3x optical zoom, 1.3 megapixel, and all the good stuff.. ENJOY!

coupon codes can be found at www.bensbargains.net

oops. almost forgot, you can find the rebate form at www.amazon.com, just look under that camera, theres a printable form. The one at www.fujifilm.com does not load for some reason.

Or just stick with a disposable 35mm camera...it's about equal to a 7 megapixel. (varies due to film type and how negatives are made).

Enjoy!

I got mine a while back for $286 after rebates and discounts.
It's very easy to use. I haven't done much with it yet, but I like it.
The 4mb SmartMedia is the only downside I see. Of course it doesn't burn to CDR's like the Sony. But for the price it's hard to beat.

Puppyc73: did they take on shipping costs? Or was it really $208 shipped?

I'm crossing my fingers - just got to get the good CSR...

I pulled the trigger, I've been real unhappy not having zoom. Since my Olympus d340R from Value America was soooo cheap, I've been hesitating. Already had a ton of smartmedia chips, so I needed to stay in cameras that take smartmedia.

1st CSR at staples called the shopper.com sites and didn't go for anything. Best price was over $300 with tax and shipping. No bueno.

2nd CSR no problem. He couldn't match the $248. since they had bumped up the price and the price reflected the rebate already. Matched the second site (technet) for $275. Didn't call them. Had to charge me the $10.00 for shipping (tried to weasel him, but he was working in my direction, so I let it go). Coupon? No problem, as long as I hadn't used it before for $40 off. Ended up getting it on the truck heading my way for $265.21 less the $50 rebate for a net of $215.21. I guess that's still dirt cheap for a zoom 1280x960, so I'm not complaining.

Probably not as good a deal as the Sony S10 deal, but I have smartmedia all over the place and buying a new compact flash and special batteries isn't what I wanted to do and I don't have to leave my cozy desk to make the price match.

It really does depend on what CSR you get. Some don't want to work too hard and make it easy. I could have kept on trying but it probably only would have saved me another $20.

I'm zoomin baby.

Net price again: $215.21

Of course I still cringe over the DC240 for $245.00 and DC265 for $285.00 at OD that I held in my hands and then put back during the price fiasco at OD last year. Oh, well. I know there will be a better deal next week and I'll be just as sick.

What a bunk deal, I called several times, and the lowest they would price match it to is 279.00 + 35(next day air) shipping + tax, came out to $333, then after the coupon it was $303. I called 3 CSR's and none would do anything about shipping.

What a crap deal, its cheaper to just go through technetamerica.com and pay the 10 dollar ground shipping.

Hmm, took about 20 minutes of talking with the CSR before she would pricematch at $267 and add the "approx shipping" of $14.88 as listed per www.pricegrabber.com. At any rate, the total came to $293.97 - $40 rebate - $50 = $203.97. BTW, does anybody know if this thing has a USB connection?

Thanks for the deal.

How does everybody talk Staples online into price matching these other online companies? Then on top of it, given you the coupon amount off after the matched price?

just call and say you wanna PM and tell them the Cupon number...it's that simple..I just did the plextor 8x CDRW deal for $135 and the cheapest online to find that one is buy or computer4sure dot com. anyways....you have to compare coupon and shipping..staples is free and had a bigger coupon, so I priced matched through staples instead of doing it thru Buy.com
