all these friggin' diets are ridiculous - when are people gonna figure out that what worked as a kid works now??? get outside, play, and eat decently and your body will respond by building muscle, boosting your energy, and burning off the fat! CRIKEY!!! how friggin' lazy is this country??? oh, i forgot, we're the fattest nation on the planet!! (yes, i was born in the US but have friends around the world - look at their lifestyle and you'll see some glaring differences)

Here's the really hot deal - getting out in the fresh air for some play time is healthier and FREE!!!

Maybe with only 7 posts total you don't understand the meaning of threadcrap :D

Not that I don't disagree with your sentiment...

Thanks for this deal!!! People like redgoat don't know what they're talking about and are usually 500 lbs themselves, IMO.

Don't take this the wrong way, redgoat, but nobody wants people like you around.

PS: the wrong way would be for you to think I was joking.

You can get 5lbs of Optimum Nutrition Whey Powder for $30.89 shipped at dpsnutrition.net

That's where I always buy my powders.

... I just noticed the GNC are actually 6lb, so I guess it's a pretty good deal. :)

Yeah, I configured both sites and DPS came out to be $1 more shipped. I'll probably stick with them since I've purchased from them before. Thanks for the link though.

Hmmm. When I was a kid, I think the furthest thing from my mind was eating decently. Cokes, candy, cookies, empty calories...my favorite. Even those NASTY radioactive orange circus peanuts...ugh. Also, my current lifestyle (working for a living, dealing with life and responsiblity) kind of takes away from my playtime...what do YOU do?

As far as "looking at other nations' lifestyles"...what, chain smoking and bad dental hygene? Where do I sign up?

OK, so maybe my presentation was "off", but seriously - would anyone disagree that leading a more active lifestyle and eating a more balanced diet is a better long-term solution? think about what you put in to your body and these "extreme-type" (as I call them) diets before jumping in to it

as far as having 7 posts, well, so be it - i'm not as fast at finding deals as the rest

500lbs?? nice generalization - about 180 thanks, and that is pretty stable by running, hiking, rockclimbing, etc. because I enjoy it - yes, i'm an outdoor oriented person, but even if you're not, a walk around the neighborhood isn't THAT "outdoorsie" - simple fact: more muscle = higher metabolic rate & more energy used all day long - i work my 40hr job as a Network Admin and then have several clients I handle personally, so my avg. work week is 60+ so i've got plenty of responsibilities that keep me busy

as far as my world-view, maybe it's just me, but Europeans walk alot more - heck yeah, lots smoke like fiends and have bad teeth, but not ALL - but again, maybe my activities just keeps me around people that have similar lifestyles - i probably did have "abnormal" eating habits as a kid - i guess my parents just didn't buy the candy, etc. stuff too much (nope, i didn't get to go trick-or-treating either!! for shame....)

so i'll end my involvement here with this thread and wish you all the best of health, however you choose to pursue it

Of the different brands of Whey protein, which brand tastes the best? I've been familiar with Cytosport products but haven't tried their whey protein. Anyone have any input? Thanks.

This is lame. I can't buy anything at edrugstore because I signed up for an account years ago and can't remember my password. The only way to retrieve the password is to put in the last 5 digits of the credit card I used, which I no longer have.

I don't agree with the Atkin's diet either, but what people are buying here are protein powder and things like that. A person who works out requires about 2 grams of protein per Kg of body mass. It is very hard to get that kind of protein without using a powder sometimes. People aren't necessarily using this to losr weight but either to gain lean mass or to prevent losing muscle (lean mass). I use lean chicken breast to get near the 150 grams I need, but you just can't stomach enough to get 150 grams by just eating chicken.
