This is a great price for this vaccum cleaner. The cheapest I've seen it anywhere else is $279.99, plus shipping. It's consumer reports highest rated vac, and is supposed to be ridiculously powerful. I just ordered one, so I guess I'll find out soon, but almost all the ratings on their site are glowing.

If you're looking for a new vacuum, this is really the way to go!

Wow that was a good thread crap Danny.... Anyhow save yourself the energy an by a Kirby ive had mine for seven years and the will rebuild the whole vac for free whenever you want. Only prob its over 1,000 for the vac, but it never stops

Just got my Consumer Reports and the Hoover was listed as 2nd best of the group and always ranks up high in consumer mags. 😎

Thanks so much. My old Regina vacuum was a POS when it was new, and after ten years, it was time for a new unit. Been looking for a decent deal for months now. The best price I could find for what I wanted was $260 (bagless or bag), and my wife's sister can't say enough about her new Hoover. In fact, I called her to find out which model she has before placing my order: it's the TOTL bagless unit (which is see-thru...very cool), while this one is apparently the TOTL bag unit (which isn't see-thru).

Also, Consumer Reports specify that bag units still have a bit better performance than bagless, tho' the quality of bagless has improved this year.

Just the same, while this unit may not look as cool as my wife's sister Hoover, it's got slightly better performance.

And performance is what it's all about on this board, right?

do you think i could rig this up to blow on my cpu heat sync? but that that much might as go watter cooling... or better yet have this blow on my radiator

Are people that lazy now that we have to have self-propelled vacuum cleaners? Are they really that hard to push?

SSGTi: From what I noticed at epinions was a number of people reviewing a vacuum cleaner they purchased in '99 or '00. Not only that, but the model number listed for the vacuum cleaner is different than the model number available for sale at Amazon. And the model at Amazon can still be found all over the place, so while it may be discontinued by Hoover, it's not necessarily "old"...and certainly appears to be a newer model than what you read about at epinions.

Also, I read over the specs between this model and the current replacement Ultra...they look identical.
