good deal on this. I have one of their small versions of this, paid about the same price. The food comes off a bit dry though, I guess because all the juices drip off.

Thanks for the deal, Joker. I've been waiting for one of these to drop so I could get it as an XMas gift for someone.

Thanks for the good post. I was just looking at these last night locally but didn't want to spring the $100.00 that the local National stores wanted.

Back in stock. The $5 off $35 coupon mentioned in another thread will work this. Lowers the total price to $40 shipped.

Just so you know this is not the standard flip top 'lean mean grilling machine'. It's a different style and not the same type of unit. It is a good price, but from what I have seen they don't sell as well and I am not sure about the performance of this one. There is a jumbo flip top one, but it's pver a hundred bucks from what I have seen.

I almost pulled the trigger on this one, but then I remembered the "fat drips off" thing. Most people really like these, but I want my fat not to drip off! Fat is so maligned in this country, at least fat in food. But fat in food does not = fat on body. It's carbs baby carbs that are the problem. If George was selling good tasting 0 carb buns and 0 carb ketchup, now that would be something I'd buy.

P.S., for all the anti-fat nuts out there, I lost 30 lbs (20 in 5 weeks) by eating all the fat I wanted (mostly protein, but all the fat that went with it). Now I'm at my perfect weight, feel great, lots of energy, and lovin it. Compare that to a low fat, hungry all the time, lose maybe .5 lbs per week until you go nuts, binge, and gain 110% back crowd. ;)

Okay, maybe I strayed a bit off topic with this one...

What makes the other design so good is that it cooks both top and bottom simultaneously. It really isn't a gimmick, it cooks faster and tastes better than an oven broiler. The tiny one amazon sells is a good deal.
From the design, I doubt this one is going to make the food any faster or taste any better.

As for fat, you DO want animal fat to drip off... make it up with olive oil in the salad dressing...
