No, it's not.
Here's a tip...as soon as you finish cooking on it, unplug it and wet 2-4 sheets of paper towels (I mean completely soaked here, not damp) and place on the grill and close the lid on it. It will steam and hiss. After you finish eating, take them out and throw them away and then do easy wipe-up on the rest. Prevents stuff from really cooking on and makes cleanup on the non-stick coating a breeze.
