There is also another couple of great barebones systems. Worth checking out.

There is also an exclusive code on the site in my sig tag for 10% off your order.

Enjoy this one!

It's the combination of the items that make it a deal. Hey.. the fx 5200 is good for most people.. even for gaming... It really depends on what you are looking for.

no it's really not. I have friends with the 5200 and that card is worth than some of the MX cards in some things.

The FX5200 is, IMHO the worst video card ever made.

I made the mistake of buying one once, I sold it within a week.

I disgree with this judgement, I bought a Gigabyte FX5200 128 MB and its running great. I can play FarCry all setting at low and 1024X768 without a problem. Also can play Counter Strike decently. Paid $49.99 -$20 Rebate few months back.

i had a FX5200 also, until the fan went out in it, it played everything i had easily. I had no complaints with it. The fan quit on it though, instead of replacing it, i used it as an excuse with the Mrs to upgrade yet again.

As far as Nvidia cards go, the FX line is disappointing up until the 5900. The 5200 wasn't a big step up from its predecessors, and the ATI comparable cards blew it away. As far as value goes, it wasn't worth it.

See.. it depends on what you are looking for.. if you are looking for mega high res and speed no this is not the card.. but then again an awesome card is going to cost you mroe than this barebones kit.. it's all relevant... 🙂

I'm still using my ti4600 and loving it...

A ti4600 would kill a fx5200 (fx5200 is like a g4mx/g2 GTS)...they really are bad cards. I bought one cheaply for my dad's comp (no gaming) and its still pretty bad

I am not sure about the "Echostar" power supply. Could not find the 480W, but the 450W sells for $14 and the 500W sells for $17.95.
Geeks PS's

If you go for this deal, it is probably risky to stay with the Echostar IMHO.

Correct me if I'm wrong but the 10% coupon code is not valid on Geek Specials?

It's still a nice deal and thanks for posting.

You are correct.. the coupon code is not valid on items marked geek special and this barebones system is marked geek special. Therefore the coupon would not apply. It does apply to anything else you might order that is not marked geek special though.

Thanks for pointing that out, should save a few posts about why it is not working.
