HOT! GameCube Bundle $259 Costco B&M - Free Memberships at new stores 11/29

New store opens tomorrow, launch party tonite at the intersection of NC 51 (Pineville-Matthews) & Independence.

When the store opens tomorrow you can take advantage of their free 1-year membership, though I don't know how long this lasts (should be similar to the Kansas City deal?)

If you haven't already bought your xbox, the store manager tells me they will have plenty of the bundles available at $419 (xbox, extra controller, NFL Fever and Oddworld--the unethical amongst us CAN swap unopened games at other stores for games of their choice!) Lukewarm deal for Costco members, but HOT when you add free membership! They also have cheap Gamecube games and PS2 paraphernalia.

COSTCO UPDATE:

So far I know of two stores opening today (Thurs 11/29) that have free 1 year membership:
- Kansas City (search for an earlier thread)
- Matthews, NC

Please post here if you know of any other stores opening in your area!!!

CONSOLES UPDATE:

I checked it out tonite and they actually let you walk around in the store without buying anything. Unfortunately this store will not be carrying Xboxes (Tyvola store has those) but they will have Gamecubes--in a KILLER bundle!!!

Costco GameCube Bundle:
- Gamecube console
- NO extra controller ~ only includes 1 with the system, sorry bout the confusion!!!
- memory card
- Luigi's Mansion game
- Luigi's Mansion strategy guide

All for $259!!! Basically you're getting the mem card and game guide for $11!!! Plus, they have all the launch games at reduced prices ($43.99 or $45.99 vs $49.99!)

These bundles are B&M only I believe--I can't find either Xbox or Gamecube hardware at costco.com

just browsed costco's site and i see the reduced price of the games...
Luigi's Mansion $43.99
Madden NFL 2002 $45.99
Tony Hawk 3 $44.99
Of course you have to pay shipping.
No sign of the game cube, though, and no free 'online' membership.....
sucks for those of us w/ no costcos nearby.

Just went to my local Costco B&M (Tustin, CA) and they do not carry the gamecube. They do carry the games as mentioned above but not the console. I asked around and they said that they have no plans on any gamecube shipments. But, they also said it is possible there may be some surprise shipments.

bump up! Anyone finding these cubes at their B&Ms???? I'm sick so I came home straight after work and I missed the grand opening (already got the free membership at the party last nite!) I'm afraid that the cubes might have sold out by now.

I believe a membership at one Costco is good at ALL stores (mebbe even in Korea and Taiwan) however you need to sign up at a new store to get the offer.

Costco seems to have some weird policies regarding consoles. I remember when I asked the manager at the Tyvola store he said they would not be carrying anything other than PS2, but he said the new Matthews stores would have Xboxes. A week later I return to the Tyvola store and lo and behold, they have a $419 Xbox bundle (plenty in stock!) The Matthews store said they would NOT be carrying Xboxes, yet he wouldn't be surprised if they just 'showed up' (???) Confusing...
