Hot (!!) Game Deals including Thief II (TWO) packaged w/Might & Magic VI for $14.99

I saw this posted a week or two ago but it involved the original Thief.

Today, in my local B&M Best Buy bargain bin I found Thief II packaged together with Might and Magic VI for only $14.99. Some other good cheap misc games, also.

If you are looking for a good chess program, check out directdeals.com (I am getting errors on the page when I try to link) and search for Chessmaster 8000 for only $12.00 plus $4.62 s&h. Mine arrived today. Still some left.

EDIT: Chessmaster 8000 confirmed out of stock (I guess it was a Hot Deal!) but some earlier versions for cheap still left.

Ironically enough, I just finished Thief II about 10 minutes ago. I've played all the top-rated games released in 2000, and either Thief II or Deus Ex would be my Game of the Year. This is a great buy, and I highly recommend this game to anyone who would appreciate a more thoughtful first person "shooter," although there's much more sneaking around than shooting. The IGN website has a walkthrough that I found invaluable.

That's why it's a first person "sneaker". Play it on Hard difficulty. You'll get a lot more out of it.

Personally I think the normal difficulty is good for getting used to the level layout, but the hard difficulty is better for a challenge and a better time. Either way, a FANTASTIC game.

Chessmaster 8000 is OOS- too bad- compusa wants $35 for it- was going to pick one up for my nephew- he loves chess.

I agree, Thief 2 is a fantastic game, worth $50!
