Hot Fuzz on HD-DVD Issue

Essentially, I'm a bit curious if anyone else has Hot Fuzz on HD-DVD and uses the XBOX 360 HD-DVD drive (with the XBOX 360) and noticed any audio anomolies. I noticed at two points in the movie that the audio chirps and I've never had an issue with any other HD-DVD's audio. As to what audio format I use, I believe it's Dolby DTS, but I'd have to check to make sure.

After paying $35 for the disc at Circuit City, I'd much rather have a copy that isn't flawed... so if this is a player issue, I'll ignore it, but if you think it's a disc issue, I'll return the disc and get another one.

Any thoughts?

This thread WILL NOT turn into another Blu-Ray versus HD-DVD flame war. There are PLENTY of threads discussing that topic.

Keep this discussion from heading further down that path by staying on topic.

Thanks,
-Schadenfroh

I've heard (although never experienced) of issues with combo discs. Also do you have the HD DVD update?

If you don't have anything better to add, then why even post? Didn't your grandmother ever teach you "If you don't have something good to say, don't say anything at all"?

You people will do anything to trash HD DVD, it's truly sad.

I had to return 3 discs to Sony after the crap they pulled. However, you don't see me running around posting that in every PS3 or blu-ray thread do you?

To OP, sorry for the problems. I'd try to return it and see if you can get a different disc. Have you upgraded to the latest firmware also?

My grandmother died before she could say that to me.

You really are a douche for talking about someone's deceased family members.

OP, I'd say return it for another copy and see if you still have the same problems.

One movie has issues for the OP and it counts as a loss for the entire format? Is it really necessary to take sides as if this is some sort of sports competition? Do you own stock in Sony?

And you're a misogynist for using that term to describe people. Guess we're even.

Only after you guys sat around spewing more anti HD DVD crap, like you usually do. WHy can't you just talk about your advantages without crap talking another format? Because your overminds at Sony wouldn't like that!

I have the same movie-player combo and haven't experienced any problems. It is probably the disc.

FWIW, I love the movie, and the transfer is awesome.

Dolby and DTS are separate things.

If it's an anomaly on your physical disc, it might just show up on one of the soundtracks if it has both Dolby and DTS.

Try running the passage that has the problem with one and then the other sound version (assuming it has both) and see if the problem exists on both tracks.

Do you have the latest firmware? I heard that a firmware update fixed some issues with the player.
