Granted, this isn't your usual hot deal - but regardless....

If you've got a Pep Boys near you, and you're a car buff - who likes their cars clean - check out the detailing section.

Amongst the great deals:

Meguiar's products:

Final inspection - normally $6.99 - now $2.80
Endurance Tire Gel - normally $8.99 a kit, now $5.00

Applicators:

Terrycloth covered wax applicator - normally $6.99 for 7, now $2.20
Foam 4 finger wax applicators - normally $2.50 each, now $0.80

Drying tools:

Wooden handle squeegee - normally $5.99 - now $2.00
The Absorber - synthetic chamois - normally $9.99 now $6.00

Dunno how long the sale would last (people in my PepBoys were their usual helpful selves :) and the one PB I visited didn't have the deals marked on the shelf (but the prices were the same nonetheless).

If you're not into detailing, sorry to have taken up your bandwidth

Wow thanks, that Final Inspection stuff is great for a quick detail. I used to buy that stuff for $7, now's the time to stock up. Is the Meguiar's Clay also clearanced? The paint's feeling a bit rough. :)

And BTW, Zymol ordered direct is better stuff but not for the price. ;)

Darn no Pep Boys near me. :(

I would love to try the Meguiar's products. I've been a Zaino addict for as long time. Any comparison?

Zaino's good stuff - and so is Klasse, another polymer sealant that does a great job, and also is a *LOT* cheaper.

How about a Klasse group buy - get it here for under $40 shipped, for both parts of the system (Klasse All-in-one and Sealant Glaze):

This is for both US and Canada buyers.

Clay - sorry - no price breaks on the Meguiar's clay kits, although I did see a bunch of open boxes on clearance - just the QD though - someone had 'five finger discounted' the clay out of the box.

As far as for regionality - so far, it works in MA, MN, NY, NJ, PA and UT - I'd have to guess that it's not confined to one place :)

Nice. I picked up an Absorber yesterday.
Did not know about the other items... including "Meguair's final inspection".
Will have to stop in tomorrow.

What is the Meguiar's Final Inspection? I've been using their soap, polish and wax for years and have never noticed a product called Final Inspection.

Final inspection is a quick detailer, I use it for a clay lubricant, but its also used if you want to do some spot cleaning, and its gentle enough it won't remove your wax, some QDs also have wax in them to replenish anything you take off, and gve it an extra shine.

Zaino is a silicon based wax/shine. Meguires is a carnuba based product (at least for the waxes).

I own and race a german sports car. There are plenty of arguments on the car boards about the pros and cons of the two brands and what is best on our expensive paint jobs.

Zaino is generally considered the best of the best. You pay a bundle for it and it is not the most recognized product name, but for the 'true beleivers' it is the only way to go.

Most people that begin using Zaino, love it. BTW: Zaino is not available in stores, to Pep Boys won't have it.

Pothead-

Same goes for Klasse - no more than an ounce will cover the entire car, and the durability is excellent - one application will easily last 6 months.

if I stock these up, how long can i keep them. Another word, would the wax, polish stuff go bad after a period of time?
