DQ® Celebrates 100 Years of the Cone

In an effort to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the ice cream cone, Dairy Queen® operators throughout the United States will celebrate by offering customers a free 5 oz. vanilla ice cream cone (one per customer) on Monday, Sept. 22, 2003. As part of the celebration, Dairy Queen® employees will be collecting donations for Children's Miracle Network, the DQ® system's charity of choice. This one-day grassroots event will kick-off a year-long celebration of the ice cream cone that will run through September 2004.

Lame? I have no problem with companies "stealing" each other's ideas, as long as it's freebies! :)

DQ isn't ice cream, but ice milk.

It's still ok.
It's ice cream, just soft serve, dude.

Wel actually its "DQ" Goto a counter and ask for a small "ice cream" cone. They'll say something like, "we don't have Ice Cream, but we have DQ."

Yeah, if you read that article it says that to be legally defined as ice cream it has to have at least 10 percent milk fat. DQ has 5 percent, so it's definitely NOT ice cream. My girlfriend worked for a couple years at DQ and she said the mix they used was labeled as "Ice Milk." Apparently, ice milk has no legal definition so the term is falling out of favor...
