Anyone have anything to say about this monitor? I'm in the market for one, and would like input on anyone still using CRT monitors. L:D

It looks like a decent bargain 19". It's definitely not Arpeture Grille (Trinitron, Diamondtron), thats for sure, but for $100 shipped after rebate you can't go wrong. I'd pick it up if I needed an extra decent monitor for someone.

I have this monitor.. Bought it off a fellow anandtech member.

This monitor is worth every buck, but their are better monitors out there.
I'm currently using this for temp, till i find a 21" monitor!

This monitor uses a DynaFlat type of screen, its by samsung. Likely known as Pure Flat monitor.
Their are some flaws that i saw, but thats what i expected from Envision. Other then that, well worth the 100 bucks.

Can't comment on the quality, but this monitor scans to 95Khz, meaning it can run 1600x1200 at 75hz, which sounds good to me. Most of the cheap monitors only go up to about 85khz or so, which means you can't run 1600x1200 unless you do it at 60hz; many people (including myself) find that hard on the eyes.

Just checked Epinions: reviews are mixed. Probably not a good candidate for running above 1280x1024.

Called to order today, but Staples is OOS online. My local store is supposed to be getting a few in tomorrow's shipment, so hopefully I'll get one.

just to comment, Envision flat screen monitors are not true flat. they're just a flat glass over a regular monitor imo. but i got the 17" crt for $11 after rebate and tax, so i can't complain. quality is nice, but dont expect true flat quality. they make good monitors and i also own their 17" lcd which is awesome too!

just an update that not all areas are in stock as I called them and they advised that they don't have one central shipping warehouse. I'm sure this is usual for other companies but it's the first I had heard of it.

I got this monitor just before Xmas for $99 after rebate...I like it but will agree with the above poster that it's kind of deceptive to call it a "flat screen". It does look like a flast piece of glass over a curved CRT screen. But aside from that I have no complaints whatsoever. Rebate came pretty quick too (about 4 weeks).
