Look. Not every Monarch thread has to turn into a bashing thread. If people have a question about their practices, they can go to resellerratings and make up their own mind. Most of us have ordered from them before and will make a determination based on our experiences.

You may have a personal vendetta against them because they shipped the 7900GT you ordered two days late and didn't correctly verify your mommy's credit card, but take it to OT or, better yet, MySpace.

I have ordered from Monarch before...about a year ago. I had a good experience.

Now, everything has turned sour. Monarch is either having horrible problems with their database, or they will be filing for bankruptcy soon.

IMO, i think its best to warn people NOW instead of hearing of a couple dozen of "I can't get my money, they're out of business".

Of course I just bought one for $225. Why would a good deal come around when Im actually looking for something? Seems to be just my luck latley :|

I don't think he is trying to turn this into a bashing thread, at least in my interpretation. I think is fair ground to raise any issue concerning the creditability of any vendor. It is disturbing to see a low reseller rating for them because I have good luck with Monarch as well in the past. I am seriously consider this processor, but would very much like to know what these "shady business practices" have been. Anyone with some creditable information, please PM me what they know to keep from kludgeing the thread up.

I don't want to seem to hijack the thread just to ramble off on one bad transaction but these guys are seriously going down the toilet in a hurry...

I think the majority of the problems rest in their refunding and long ship times. Just look at "Ben's" for the same thread for the CPU, there are a lot of problems with refunds and out of stock items that people have posted.

Case in point:

I had ordered a Lian Li V2000b case from them. I waited for over a week, and it still hadn't shipped. So, I emailed them.....no reply for two days. I called them up, got some guy who basically said that they didn't have that one in stock and he didn't know when they'd have one. He then started to change the order over to a lesser Lian Li (v1000 series). I finally got him to cancel my order entirely.

Two weeks pass and NOTHING of a refund on my credit card. I email them 4 times, no reply. I call them up, and they put me on hold forever TWICE while they "check something." This was two days ago and still no word on when or IF they'll refund the money. If I can't get a hold of them to put a refund on my VISA, i'm going to dispute that charge. The only other company that i have even had HALF the problems with were with Tiger Direct...but they've changed their tune and I'd order from them again.

wow i never knew monarch tanked in terms of customer satisfaction. wow.

im personally waiting for a good deal on the 4MB E6600... or 6700, or even the quad core qx6800 (yeah right). 6400 is not that much of an upgrade to my 6300 now

Very nice deal, but I would have liked it better if it was like a $169 e6300. I can't find the cpu if you go from their home page... :confused:

Actually they took over 3 weeks to refund my credit card for an item that they said was in stock but never shipped, when I called to check status they said it was backordered. I asked for a refund and they took over 3 weeks and finally I just told them that I would dispute the charge with my credit card company.

Not thread crapping, but Resellerratings for the last 6 months and the comments on there are really, really sketchy for Monarch. Even though the price is right, this is a gamble considering the store's current lack of customer service integrity.

I say we place a big YMMV on the title, and all is well. Excellent price, and I'm very tempted, if it weren't for the horrible reviews on RR.

Dang, this is $50 less than what I paid for mine but I got mine when they first came out. You gotta pay to have the new stuff but this is one time I didn't mind. :D
