Man, even when I just upgraded from a 2500+ XP to a 3500+, I'm now thinking about jumping out the door into the ghetto-mobile to Frys to pick up the 940D...

nothing wrong with cheap. my old XP 2000+ and ECS mobo have been running strong for two years now and it was only $75 or so at the time from Fry's.

So you can have the pleasure of waiting in line, then having your customer name screwed up on the receipt so you can fight for your rebate.

I used to work for CrapUSA and when ever we published a clearance sales, there's a line forming 5 to 6 hours before the store is open. When the doors are open, they rush in like rats abandoning a sinking ship. Crazy fights for the last item on the shelves/display, man there were good times, good times........:)

i dunno about that. fry's is extremely good when it comes to getting you your rebate. i know they've really hounded these companies, and i've received some rebates that i normally didn't think i'd get. they also will handle rebates that you haven't received up to a year back. i really do need to give them some credit for this.

940D + ECS 945P for $259 is in Fry's ad for today (05/28) ... so it should be in stock, at least in the morning. Make a run for it :)

i picked up 2 AMDx2 4200+ combos for 357 each out the door. Not bad since the processor is about that much. Now to ebay or sell the mobos. If anyone wants an ecs K8T890-A 939 Socket mobo for like $40 bucks, hit me up. they are $70+. its sealed and new. :) good hunting at frys!

go easy

One CPU, two cores. Basically like a dual-processor system on one chip, though Windows doesn't fully utilize both cores simultaneously yet.
