I like Denon! I remember a system that I had back in the late 80's that was wonderful. You could turn the amplifier off and you would not know it for about 5 seconds. The capacitors were huge!! The 1812 Overture never sound so good!

nice ass receiver, crap ass dvd player. it's pointless to get a non upconverting player these days... you at least need HDMI. HD Progressive Scan blows through HD component, even if you have $70 cables... then again, you need a good $20-$30 HDMI cable to have solid picture too.

Samsung and LG make great upconverting players. If you were looking for a DVD player in this quality range, get the Philips DVP-642 and get yourself MPEG4 support.

Curious, which Samsung and LD players you like?
Denon has some (4) players w/ HDMI.
