Go to Dell Small Business and put together a Dell Inspiron starting using this link. The key to this deal is the fact that the automatic 100 off coupon stacks with the 10% off coupon code. I've never seen this before on Dell. And a free Palm and free shipping too.

I can create the following:

P4 1.6, 15.0" SXGA+, 128 MB RAM, 32 MB GeForce 2, 30 GB HD, No floppy, XP Home, 8x DVD, MS Works, 1 yr. warranty, FREE PALM

All that totals out to 1499.
An automatic $100 off drops that to 1399.
Add a *10% off* coupon code found at your favorite coupon site (I'm partial to Ableshoppers.com) and that drops another 139.90 off the price.
Free shipping knocks off another $39.
A slight YMMV element but still pretty reliable: Fleabay (fleebay?) the Palm for $130 (a conservative going rate estimate).

Your final price after (5% for MD) tax, before selling Palm is 1327.82.
Sell the Palm and you might get the system for around 1200 shipped, after tax.

This deal seems pretty darn good considering you get a 30 gig HD. Also, consider that you get the laptop for 1200 after ALL the tax and shipping and whatnot and don't have to worry about a rebate.

Where it gets especially intriguing is if you get lots of upgrades, as I did. I am actually typing this on an Inspiron I got on an earlier Hot Deal. As much as I love this laptop, it 1) lacks the Ultrasharp, 2) has only a 20 gig, 4200 RPM HD, 3) has the lowest tier video card, 4) has only one CD drive so I can't copy CDs from one drive to another.

When I ordered this laptop a month back, the 10% was not stackable; it canceled out the 100 off, and there was no free Palm (there was a $150 rebate though).

So tonight I ordered the following:

Mobile Pentium® 4 Processor,1.6 GHz-M,15.0 Dell® UltraSharp? Qty: 1 Unit Price: 2,146.00

So I'm looking at getting that absolutely loaded to the brim system for close to 1800 when all is said and done (i.e. after I sell the Palm). What really bugs me though (it is italicized above) is that I COULD NOT GET ULTRASHARP without getting stupid MS Office XP! It tells me that getting Ultrasharp with MS Works is not a valid configuration. Right, like the screen needs a stupid piece of M$ software to run. And Office XP jacks up the price 200 dollars!! I'm gonna call customer service tomorrow and see if I can somehow get them to send it to me without stupid Office XP. Then it will truly be a smoking deal...

Granted, this config is around 500 more than my present system (1350 after 150 rebate.. I plan to send it back to Dell and hope their bureaucracy will still process my 150 dollar rebate :D) but I realized that this is a LOOONG term investment and I might as well really pimp it out now.

Does anybody have one of those $100 off $450 small biz coupons they'd be willing to give me?
