taken from techbargains:

Dell has new coupons for $100 off Desktops $1099+ and $150 off Laptops $1599+. Use it with their free shipping and $150 mail in rebates to get a great deal!

the codes are at the site, go get it! expires Aug 1st.

The deal with the $150 rebate is you can choose to get the $150 rebate OR a "free" upgrade to 256MB of RAM from 128MB (inspiron 8000 and 2100 only). With RAM prices today I'd get the rebate :)

The free shipping is there when you check out, just choose UPS ground.

so basically a total of $300 savings + no shipping, if you play your cards right.

I personally am looking to get an inspiron 8000 with this deal, can anyone tell me how to use those codes? I looked everywhere on Dell's website, and there's no place to enter promotional codes. Please PM me ASAP! I'll be leaving for college in a couple of wks, and this deal would be very nice on my very thin wallet.

You should only be entering in one coupon code, right?

After you have configured your Dell Inspiron 8000 then add it to your cart, to the right of where it says SUBTOTAL it should say ADD COUPON click that link and a pop-up window appears.

Don't forget to order through eBates.com which will save you another 2% off your order.

There's a few important things to remember to order:
3 Yr Ltd. Warranty-3 Yr Mail-in Service + 3 Yr Phone Support [add $119]
LI-ION 2ND PRIMARY BATT [add $99]
Internal 56K Capable V.90 + 10/100 Mini- [add $30] A MUST HAVE!!!

thanks for the reminder! I am usually too slow on deals to be the first, I was excited this hasn't been posted yet :)

hey thanks for the tip on ebate, i need all the help i can get. So... how does ebate work?

and is the 3yr warranty really worth it? I am looking over the configs right now, I want a UXGA screen + Geforce2 Go, and DVD. The ethernet is a must for college net hehe but is the warranty worth it, cause man that price kicks up real fast and i am trying to config one for around $1600 (the max i can afford, give or take).

Hmm, I've been looking at gettingone of these too. Can anyone say if there is $100 worth of performance difference between 16 and 32 MB on the GeForce videocard?

When you checkout, look for the "Add Coupon" link on the right side. Click on it, and add one of the coupon codes.
There is also a $50 off coupon code (that can be found) for ANY Dimension 8100 or Inspiron 8000 purchase!
BTW, this is a repost from here
