20gig hd... i think so
I have that on my server/firewall/router and it houses all my big files (1000+ mp3s, movies, and such) and i stiill have

Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/hda2 19G 4.2G 13G 24% /

What in the world would you need a hardrive bigger than this for? video editing? what? an entry level video editor (say that because of ati and 64megs of ram).

this is an excellent system for the money. I would upgrade the ram and add speakers and a monitor and this computer would be awsome for desktop... or add a nic or 2 and format C: and install solaris or debian (ok.. even slackware) and have a kickbutt fileserver/firewall/router/server and such

yea, a 20 gig would be enough, unless you want to do some professional editing. Or you want to back up your dvds. ;)

If you want to add speakers, you might want to add a sound card.

For a workstation it's not bad. I know at my office I mainly just need the hard drive for the o/s and a few programs. No sound really needed, though would be nice, typically for a workstation you buy a really nice monitor that you will keep until it dies, definately need at least 256 megs of ram, etc...

I can't decide if it's a good deal or not. Some parts like the HD are too big, but then they only put in 64 megs of ram. etc...

I have 60 gig hd, planning on getting 2 75gd hd in the near future.
20 gigs isn't really that much these days

PS: whenever I hear "xxx should be enough" I always think about 640kb for some reason

Yeah but, we are talking about something meant for a workstation that will probably be on a network. Speed is more important than storage.

I think 20gigs is "good enough" for now. This seems like a good deal, if you need more space you can always add on another HD considering we see all these HD deals in this forum :)

I love how people on here make fun and put down deals that they think are overpriced but never back up their comments with evidence! If you guys think this is such a crappy deal then show us where we can get it cheaper at.

If you want a GOOD system.. Build It Your Self!.... If you are gonna buy a ready built system.. guess it wouldnt be such a bad price... Never Bought a Ready System.. Never Will.... IMHO ... That is... :p
