You've barred deals related to religion because, as you said "We really do not want to ban all the rude little children who can't control themselves". This hardly seems logical or consistant. If we had a bunch of hot deals for Windows and the threads grew with people bashing Microsoft would you then ban threads regarding Windows? I hope not, that would be stupid! The clear course of action would be to ban the people diverging from the topic. You make it fairly clear though your attitude towards religion with your choice of "syntax" in the subject line.
