My gf asked me to build her a box, and I've been looking around for some parts and i've been hoping to see some at the Hot Deals forum.. but all i see are the new items.. most recent cpu, video cards, big a$$ TVs.

I'm sure there are some decent deals comming up on like Sempron + mobo combos, or GeForce 4, or "only" 512megs of ram..

maybe i'm looking at it the wrong way.. but not everybody is looking for "hot deals" on the "hot new items"...

who knows....

There are RAM deals all the time, and when they happen people list the sempron bundle deals at Outpost/Frys. People also list the graphics card deals when they happen.

When they happen. No happen = no listing.

Manufacturers have gotten better at controlling inventory over the years, so there usually aren't any hot deals on closeout "last year parts" except old drives at the office supply stores. Discontinued CPUs like Athlon XPs actually go up in price as the last stock runs out.

Microcenter has 2.8gHz Celerons and 2500+ Semprons with motherboards, on sale for $89 and $79 respectively when purchased together.

I could say that a little clearer...

$89 for a Celeron 2.8 and Matrix MoBo after $40 rebate.
$79 for a Sempron 2500+ and a Matrix MoBo after $40 rebate.
