hot deals links not working

many detonator dynamite links are going to limbo. I just posted a link myself here: http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2098192

I had to finally remove the http and www. from my link just to allow others to cut/paste it. I've seen it broken on several other fs/ft threads as well.

What's wrong? How do we fix it?

btw, the link in the OP is just going to a blank page. it's not a bad link, the deal is still in effect, I found the actual deal on my own and know that it's active.

Yeah. These borked detonator links aren't going to be making much money for the AT forums either when they're broken.

I fixed that particular link. The detonator thing was putting in some percent signs which is currently a vB problem (see this thread).

They'll probably find a way to get fixed faster (or at least find a work around) if they know the referral links are borked. 🙂

But ther "character decoding"-problem is not only in links containing the "percent"-character. It is also a problem in the - admittedly very few - links which contain umlauts such as ä, ö and similar...
