For those of you interested in toys, Good Guys has free shipping and no tax on all items purchased from www.goodguys.com. Good thing is that free shipping applies to everything, including big screen TVs and audio equipment. They also pricematch to authorized internet dealers, so go and have some fun.

Are they named after the "Good Guy" doll from the Child's Play movies? I hope not! I don't want a crazy possessed doll after me!

This is a good deal, especially for large heavy items with the free shipping. Nice find.

As long as they're authorized dealers goodguys.com will pricematch. I'm guess that includes 800.com and hifi.com. Note that they credit the pricematch in the form of store credit, not cash. But what that does allow you Am Ex people to do is basically get a double PM.

You'll definitely have to use the 1-888 number. Seems that just about everything listed is MSRP. For example, the V444ES is listed for $999, but I believe Magnolia Hi-Fi's everyday price for the same model for $899 ($799 a couple of weeks ago on sale).

I once got royally burned by a B&M GoodGuys. Put a hold with down-payment on an item once, had it stamped and taken into the back room. When my mother-in-law went to pick it up the next morning, she found one of the other salespeople took the receipt off of it and sold it to someone else. They offered her the floor model with zero discount, or something slightly better for just $300 more. Service isn't a specialty of theirs...I don't even walk into their store any more.

I worked for them for a short time a few years ago, and I would definitely have to agree. My coworkers and manager gave me some funny looks when I took extra good care of the customers, and basically told me "you don't have to do that, you know..." I figured I was giving the kind of service I would want to receive if I were making such an expensive purchase. Needless to say, I didn't work there for long. I just didn't like the pressure to sell warranties and the lack of customer service.

Oh so they really pressure you to sell warranties huh? No wonder these guys put on such a hard sell. They try every trick under the sun to try to get you to take the warranty. You can say "no" several times and they are still pushing it. I really hate that. If it's one thing businesses should learn is that once a customer says "no", drop it. I end up resenting every salesperson who doesn't listen to what I said the first time.

Yeah, I have to agree......

I bought some home theater speakers there last week and the guy pracitcally called me stupid for not buying the service contract, rolling his eyes and stuff......

Then.....because of the power crisis in California he starts in on the surge protector/line conditioners........First offering to sell me one for $100 and then working his way down to a $20 model....His whole pitch/attitude was a real turn off...

If I could have gotten those speakers somewhere else I would told him to shove'em and walked out of there...

Careful with Goodguys. Some of their items only ship to states in which they have retail outlets in them.
I tried to order some Polk Audio stuff and they rejected my order because I live in IL. They don't ship Polk audio to IL.
