HOT DEALS for 6 in 1 card reader $6.99 shipped and $9.99 shipped

That internal reader looks suspiciously like one that Newegg sold several months ago that turned out to only be compatible with Biostar motherboards... Tread carefully...

I looked at the pics. They look just the same except for the wire on the back (it seems), except the ECS one looks similar too! :Q Chancellor, what happened when people used this Biostar one with other mobos?

how does the internal one connect? onboard usb? or does it connect to a real usb port?

//krunk (^_^x)

I have one like this which I believe is ECS. It is working with my ASUS motherboard. It actually worked right away. Connected it to onboard USB. Oh, and I'm using Windows XP.

YMMV, though. I fully expected it not to work based on other's experience with these things.

Yea, that was the one I was interested in also. Usually they go for about $18-20 for the internal version. And usually if you live near a FRYS you can get one of those external ones for cheap after mail in rebate.

This company seems OK...I just bought the USB 2.0 card from them a few weeks ago that someone had posted here also. A little slow on the shipping (took almost 2 weeks for the card to come) and came via USPS 1st class shipping (or so it said on the envelope). Hard to complain though with the prices and the fact that shipping is free.

Just got my external drive and it works fine. I did use generic drivers found on MS website. For some reason the drivers that came with it has issues.

It's easy to hook up, I just asked before I looked at it 😀 Windows XP Pro found all the drivers for it. Nice little device to have.

I purchased a PCMCIA SM Reader from these guys a few weeks ago. Arrived VERY fast for having free shipping... Got here in 3 days!

Only issue is USB 1.1 or I'd buy it. I borrow a Digital Rebel sometimes (IT friends are great) and it takes forever to get the pics from camera to PC off the 1GB CF card.

I bought that Biostar reader back then, it was advertised as internal/external. The outside case has mounting holes for the floppy bay, however I tried to mount it in two different cases and it didn't fit. As for the connector, mine has a regular USB connector and it works fine externally.
