Over in the Hot Deals forum, someone posted a link to an INGDirect game which pays cash if you win.
One of the moderators decided that this wasn't a legitimate topic for the Hot Deals forum.
Personally, I don't see how it hurt the forum, because the thread Title was very clear and people could choose to view it or not without wasting time. It was a legitimate link, and someone could win some money.
OK. So they chose to lock the thread. But why did they delete the link?
Even though we can no longer discuss the topic, we might still want to visit the site.
Instead of locking the thread you might just as well have deleted it.
Sorry, but I think this action was heavy handed and did NOT benefit the AT forum community in any way.
Censorship should be a last resort, and even then it should be minimized as much as possible.
