Might want to ask the current batch of Toshiba PPC2002 users about Toshiba's support before shelling out the dough...

This has been on ChubbyBillfold for a few days, and I went for it. I placed my order Monday I think....can't wait for it to come in. I signed up for their credit card to get another $30 off, so $300 after MIR is perfect for me.

Anyone have experience with this? I'm currently in the market for a handheld, and am comparing a Palm Zire 71 ($240) and Toshiba e755 ($330AR). Thanks in advance for your help.

Note: To get the Palm Zire 71 for 240, go to Dell Small Biz and apply a 20% off coupon to it.

I prefer the pocket Pc's they have more memory, which is much better for using wifi to search the internet, a real processor 400mhz, better screen than the zire. I believe once you try out Pocket PC, you leave the 90's behind and forget about Palm. All of this is just my humble opinion though.

specs

400MHz Intel CPU, 64MB RAM, 32MB Flash disk, 32MB ROM,Integrated Wireless 802.11b, CompactFlash/SDIO slot, Pocket PC 2003,thin and light

I've owned e740 and loved it. I know many folks complained about quality of Toshiba's but i havn't experienced any problems. One of the best features of this PDA is it's form factor, it is surprisingly thin considering that SD and CF slots are back to back. Also, I highly suggest you find an aftermarket browser that support landscape mode, as brosing in PIE in portrait mode can be quite painful due to all the scrolling you'll have to do.

Anyone know of an aftermarket browser for the PPC that can do landscape mode. (weird I was actually thinking about landscape browsing this morning).

I use thunderhawk for landscape browsing, it is a bit expensive, but much faster than IE, you go through Thunderhawks servers to optimize it for the PocketPC.

How much do you mean by a bit expensive?

Also, the price has been lowered by $10. It's now $369.99 (instead of $379.99) before the $50 MIR (so now $320 after MIR). :D

Any details on this? Like what it has and doesnt, how it compares in features to the e755 and the Ipaqs?
